Right now, I am putting off a fifteen-page research paper due exactly twenty-four hours from now. I have always managed to get by doing the last minute thing with good grades, but I want to change my habits. I find it really hard to do so. Please offer any serious advice.

Sounds like you've got some serious rushing to do. Have you thought about why it is that you procrastinate? Are you too busy with things like this (the Internet/e-mail), shopping, hanging with friends? The key is to buy out time for study and homework. You can't add minutes to the day, so you have to take time away from something else. That's actually a principle in the Scriptures. You can find it at Colossians 3:5 if you want to look it up.

Join the club, i'm on the 10 year plan.
Personally, for me, the key, is lists, and as well, a timer.
List what needs to be done. Then, set the timer for an hour.
Start on the first task, and then, when the timer goes off, if you're done, go to the next step, set it again, and continue. If not, set it again, and keep going.
That way, you know you're on task, and you can start to finish the tasks you need to get done.
Also helps, is removing distractions, like TV, brother, or the phone....and lastly, some music, nothing heavy, or you won't be able to concentrate on your work....good luck!

O wow. Get off this question thing and go research and write the paper. For reference do the assignment as soon as they say when its due to turn in.

Give yourself fake deadlines (ie the paper is due Tuesday when it's really due Friday) and reward yourself for meeting them with something you really want.

And, for heaven's sake, get off of this website! This is the biggest timesuck black hole on the Internet!

you can stay on line but you should make questions on homework help. homework help is also on yahoo! questions. ask questions about what your reaport is about and you MIGHT get some good answers. But that is also a bad thing because people might make up stuff. I dont want to give you my e-mail adress so maybe I can help you,all you need to do is to make a question under the name "Kittycatsss" and I will try answering you question.
