I associate coffee with stomach pain. I've heard there is a lot of acid (not the good kind) in coffee, and that it burns the stomach. Also, if you use creamer or milk, that can hurt your stomach if you're lactose intolerant.

But coffee does ALWAYS burn my stomach, but I drink it everyday b/c of habit.

Coffee is very acidic, and in addition to an upset stomach, it can cause diarrhea and transient anxiety--if in large amounts. If you look forward to coffee in the morning, try eating some carbohydrates with it to soak up the acid. Carbs such as bread/toast or even a few crackers should do the trick.

The acids in coffee can and do often cause stomach upset. I strongly suggest breakfast with your coffee if you must have it, if you can do without coffee altogether, you are far better off.

Coffee definitely affects the digestive tract. You might be more sensitive to it than others. Try eating first - or quitting. It's addictive, you know.

Yes it can cause pain
If you have ulcers it can be bad.
Try having something with it if you have to have it every day.
I only have one cup (a big one) but on ly one per day and no longer have trouble.
