I am a married mother of a 6 month old. I work full time and I am planning on going to college 24 hours a week to get my LVN license. I will work from 8-3 go to college from 3:15-8:45pm M-T and on Friday from 12-3. This leaves very very little time with my husband and daughter. I will feel guilty for the little time I have with them. I am so confused, I HAVE to work to pay bills and I also want to go to school and this is the only way to do both. I am so confused, any advice would help...am I doing the right thing?

The 24 hours per week is a MINIMUM amount in order to be enrolled in the LVN program, I would only like people with good intentions to reply, thanks.

As long as your husband will take good care of your daughter or if you have a reliable babysitter, then, YES! Pursuing to better yourself and your family's financial stability is always the good way to go as long as you know that your daughter is going to be taken care of, very well.

I am a married mother of 3 and I am taking college courses on-line. I have 2 1 hour classes a week which are in a chat-room type setting and with some hard work I will have my Bachelors Degree in 3 years. That would be another option for you so you could still have family time and better your education.

be a part time student, slowly take classes and build up. you should spend as much time with your family as possible. and your doing the right thing by going to college to get a better job, to make more money, to give your child and your husband what they deserve. but dont take a way the one thing they really do need, thats you.

so go part-time student. (and if you dont want to do that) then dont work on the weekends (that way you have saturday and sunday to be with your husband and daughter)

going to college is great, but I would try to find a way to cut back on the hours of classes...how many cr. hours is that? 12 is considered full time, but it sounds like you have more than that. I would definitely try to cut back a class or two....it may take you longer to get your degree, but doing it the way you are leaves you NO time for "homework" let alone time with your family. You will eventually wear yourself too thin.

The time away from them will seem bad, but you have to look at it in the way that once you have your degree, you will hopefully be making more money to provide a better life for your husband and daughter.

You may as well get a divorce now. You will need one and you may not have time later with all that work and school.

it's your choice if you would like a nice future for yourself or staying to take care of your child.
