My cat does this too. He just wants attention or is curious! :)

He jumps on the keyboard to get your attention and goes behind the monitor because it's warm and gives off a slight hum that comforts him.

There's nothing wrong! Your cat just wants to be with you. I actually heard of a program which is supposed to compensate for cat-typing. Its called PawSense and it detects random typing (what Fluffy types) and blocks it, and also causes your computer to make an ultrasonic noise to drive her away. Personally, I like my cat's company by the computer, although he doesn't sit on the keyboard, he sits in my baby's bouncy chair which is right next to me so I can pet him once in a while.

He wants to type! Haven't you ever played with your cat by wiggling your fingers? Just imagine how tantalizing it must be to him to see all of those fingers wiggling over the keyboard, making that strange, clacky noise! He hides behind your monitor so that he can "attack" his prey - your fingers!

Your cat probably just wants your attention. My roomate's cat will jump on my bed and lay across whatever I'm reading even though there is the whole rest of the bed for her to lay on. She just wants me to notice her.

My kitty does that too. She likes to lay right onthe keyboard so you have to pet her. She also likes to chase the mouse arrow around on the screen, its really funny to watch. Your cat just likes to be near you and wants your attention. We have toys in our office that are tied to the desk so she can be near us and play at the same time without being on the desk.

The reason why your cat is doing this is either he wants some attention and wants you to play and like my cat she is very curious about sounds and maybe he thinks your trying to get his attention by the noice.

Maybe he's reading over your shoulder, then after he reads the stupid answers, he hides behind the monitor. I feel like doing that sometimes, too! :)

Well if you want your cat to quit doing that get a spray bottle and start squirting the cat with it til it gets the point that you don't want the cat up there.

Try paying more attention to him.

Either that or his hunting instinct is going strong. Your fingers moving over the keyboard might make him think of ...PREY!

Put the cat in another room or outside if you want peace.
