pick a theme...like Playtime or Bathtime or Naptime and relate your decorations and food to the theme and gifts too

i would ask the expecting mom what theme she plans on having for her newborn. You could then base the whole baby shower around this theme. It is a good way to get the baby's room ready. My sister in law planned on having John Deere tractors as their son's theme for his room. Everything at the party was John Deere and all of the guests already knew what to get..... (anything John Deere.) His room was almost completely decorated after the shower with just the gifts alone!!
