I'm slightly curious as to what Christians really think of Pagans (Wiccan's included)
So, what do you think is true about us?

I think that you worship created things rather than the Creator.

I think that you see the beauty in things that were touched by the Master's hand, but you then think of those things as the master rather than the made.

I think you are not far from the Kingdom of God, but you stand in the outer garden never quite getting a view of the palace beyond.

Most christians don't even know what a Pagan or a Wiccan is, unfortunately.

I am a Christian and I think Pagans are human beings just like me. You have every right to believe what is right for you. One of my favorite quotes is judge not lest ye be judged. I have no right to say what is wrong with any one. I have several very close friends that are Wicca, and I love them as much as anyone could love a friend. I don't care about their religion as long as they are good people. I hate that people put up walls because of religion, I think we could all learn a lot from one another. I study religions for that reason, I want to understand people and why the believe what they do.

I live in the Bible Belt. I even tend to think of it as the Buckle of the Bible Belt. A study a few years ago said we were the second most conservative city in America, only behind Provo, UT. So until about 6 or 7 years ago I didn't think Pagans even existed anymore. It was only in the last 4 or 5 years I knew what a Wiccan was, and only in the last 2 or 3 years that Wiccan's didn't like being lumped in with Pagans and maybe vice versa?

I think Pagans and Wiccans don't believe in God or Jesus Christ. I must admit I don't know much about either group. But I think Pagans are WAY into nature. Believing in sprits, elves, and other creatures that live in trees, bushes, the earth, and other natural things.
And aren't Wiccans just witches and warlocks? Not that anyone ever said as much, but I grew up thinking that witches were just evil people who did the work of the devil, and that he gave them special powers. Now, I don't know how to put into words what I believe. I don't think they have special powers or anything, but they do believe so drasticly different that I don't know that I could easily be friends with someone who I knew to be either Pagan or Wiccan.

My opinion of both of these practices is that they are false. I don't consider either of them a religion. To me a religion has some aspect of faith, and of life after death. If you don't believe in God, one single God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Joseph, then I can't identify with your belief system very well.

Because I believe Christ is the only way to return to my Heavenly Father, I can't even grasp the concept of someone who rejects the three Abrahamic religions. I know this is outside your question, but I think those who are Muslim or Jewish, will eventually (either in life or death) accept Christ as their Savior. I can only hope as much for those who don't even have Abraham in common.

I guess in short, I don't know very much about Pagans or Wiccans. Their practices are so strange and false and based in dangerous fantasy that I can't identify with anything about them. However, Mormon history is full of accounts where we were chased out of town, state and country for our beliefs so I'm not likely to go around bashing anyone just because they are different from me. You asked and I answered. If you hadn't asked I probably would never have even mentioned it.

As a human being who does believe in God, I have no right to judge you or anyone else for that matter. I don't know what is true about you - I will admit that I am a bit frightened by the idea of witchcraft - maybe because I don't know anything, or maybe because of the social mores of my society.

I just pray that you are happy and at peace and are appro priately using the special gifts that the Lord has bestowed upon you.

I'm a Christian. A lot of my collegues are Pagans (or ceremonial magicians, or chaos magicians).

I respect people of all beliefs, and of no beliefs. I've gotten along fairly well with the Pagan community here. If anything, it's they who are suspicious of me, and often feel some weird compulsion to bash Christianity when I'm around. I don't bash their religion, though. I just let it slide, or gently offer another point of view.

I don't practice their religion, but I respect their right to believe whatever they wish.

Sweetie, I think you are setting yourself up for disappointment with the question. You undoubtedly are going to get a lot of fundies spouting a lot of hate and nonsense. I hope that is not the case but ....

There are some intelligent people who do actually do some research and think before they speak/respond but you will have to weed through the insults to find them.

Blessed Be )O(

There have been some enlightened responses here, and some of the usual brimstone-smokers. There isn;t a consensus among Christians about much of anything, really. Like all religions.

Christian here! I love ya..I mean it. As far as the religious stuff I don't know much what you believe..it is up to you. I chose Jesus as my Lord and savior. If you having free will (and you do) I respect your right to chose what you want. As an American I would defend your right to chose your own faith!

Peace<><
