I think you'll need to base your decision on puppy buying a little bit more on the deep side. buying a puppy and then not wanting it when its annoying or loud is unacceptable these days. So finding a puppy thats cute and affordable is not the only question you should be seeking. What kind of personalities are certain dogs? what is your schedule and would you have to leave it alone for long periods?... can you afford the food, deposits, licenses...fees, flea dips, nail clip sessions, etc..
look deeper into this... its a BIG decision.

Golden Retrievers and Rottweilers.
Our Golden cost us $150 almost 4 years ago (she isn't papered). Dogs are sold (or adopted out) at all prices, depending on breed, whether they're papered, and how much the people selling are wanting to make beyond the costs they've already incurred in caring for the mother during her pregnancy and in caring for the puppies.

Yorkeshire Terrier...About $200-$1,000, just depends on if it's parents are registered and that kind of stuff. It's also better to get them from the breeder. They're usually healthier and most of the time, less expensive. Good luck!!! (I'm assuming you're looking to buy a puppy)

My family got a Shitzy-Poo. She is a Shih Tzu/ Poddle mix. She is black, and all of her paws have white on them like socks, and so does her stomache and under her mouth. She has an underbite, that comes from the Shih Tzu, so her bottom teeth stick out of her mouth a little! She's really adorable, and doesnt have a long snout-like face. She was 400 dollars, I think. Her name is Abby.

I definately think labs are the cutest. You don't need a full bred lab for it to be a good dog, and the "mutt" labs are about $50-$200. Full bred are really expensive.

Shih Tzu's! Mine was purchased at a pet store for $775, but I understand there are breeders that have CKC registered for about 1/2 that price.

I love all puppies, that being said I had a Basset puppy that was so much fun. I'm sure a bull would be fun as well.

Any puppy with floppy ears is cute to me! If you get him at a pound, he won't cost much. They say, mutts have a better temperament than some pure breeds.

Definitely a baby Rottie. They look like little bear cubs. Rotties usually run about 400-600.
