I would do several things...

First, go to a GNC or vitamin store and buy Biotin vitamins. They are specifically made for strengthening hair and nails.
Second, try and wash your hair every other day. This will help with loss.
Third - if possible, wash your hair with bottled water if you are thinking your town's chlorine is the culprit.
Lastly, check in with a dermatologist or your primary care physician. They can run certain tests to help determine why your hair is having these problems. Best wishes!

For one thing, summer and winter are when you lose the most hair.
Another thing, if you do not shampoo every day, then you will lose twice the hair when you shampoo. What I mean,is , your hair will be loose in your hair and when you wash, then you will see how many had already come out.

You are not alone. But worry is an excellent way to lose hair, so don't worry over it, OK?

Also, brush your hair(I don't, but I'm telling you to). : ]
Also, EVERY person, on average, loses 75-100 hairs a day.
