See your doctor. However, it sounds like a shin splint. A primary culprit causing shin splints is a sudden increase in distance or intensity of a workout schedule.

Rest it, dont worry about missing gym. You cant heal unless you rest the affected leg. I would worry though if its the calf muscle. If that area hurts; is warm to touch and flexing your toes upward hurts; you could have a blood clot. This is a bad thing and needs to be checked out by an MD, go to the ER (by the way blood clots dont give you shooting pain). If its in the front the shin area, then all you need is rest and some Motrin, try some motrin today take 4 tabs if you are over 200 pounds, 3 tabs if 170 pounds or less, do this every 6-8 hours with food or milk, and rest it. Good luck and keep hitting the gym.

Hmm, I'm trying to imagine what's going on. Does your leg hurt when you ride a stationary bike? This is also good for weight loss. This way the stress of weight bearing isn't on this area. You could sure try it and see if this is better.
I would also suggest a ace bandage wrap, these things are miracle workers. Wear it when you go work out. Or you can wear it at home, wear it to bed if you can and then take it off to go work out. The important thing is to wear it ALOT. You'll notice and feel quite a difference after several days with it on, even a day. I've worn them to bed before. I teach alot and sometimes over do. Hope some of this info helps you....

Sounds like shinsplints. Go slow. Work up to it. It sounds stupid, but keep a control journal of every bite you eat. If you want to eat it, write it down. If you don't eat it, don't write it down. That was such a pain to me that I ate things like "salad." "carrot" "pickle." But I learned to eat "1/2 cheeseburger." instead of the whole thing. "1 kid-sized candy bar" instead of KINGSIZE Keep healthy foods around the house. Ride a stationary bike for a while. Don't kill yourself trying to make your self healthy. I had a BIG weight problem- from 265 to 200 to 187, and now I'm back up to 230, over the last 22 years. You don't gain it in a day, you don't lose it in a day. Walk in small amounts to build the cardio system enough, and your legs will follow. Drink LOTS of water to help your body purge from all of the toxins. Eat water-based foods - fruits, veggies, more than those higher calorie snacks that only leave you wanting more. but if you have a craving, give a little, or you'll continually be dissatisfied.

It's possible your ACL is strained, in which case you should see a doctor. Most times an ACl injury requires tearing the ACL, but it can also become overworked. Generally, pain at the side of the knee comes from an ACL injury. If you're a woman, you're more likely to get it than a man.

Its likely that you may have damaged either you ligaments or muscles within the knee area. Get it checked out.
Plenty of ice and an anti inflammatory will help ease the pain, but you will need rest for a couple of weeks then start some form of rehabilitation

It's a condition were the muscle tears away from the bone. When walking/excercising wear a tight knee bandage and get some gel heel inserts for you shoes/trainers, this will reduce shock when walking and prevent it happening. (Not a GP, I WAS a fellow sufferrer)

Possibly Chin Splints or a strained calf muscle. Stay off of it for a couple days and keep it elevated with alternating Cold/Hot Packs. Taking some Ibuprofen might help too.

Sounds like shin splints! See a doctor, and he'll probably prescribe some anti-inflammatory drugs, recommend you take a month off of any strenuous exercises, use heat or ice therapy, and basically let them heal! I've had them, so I know the pain involved. God bless!

Could be tendonitis. I suffer from this in in my knee and achilles. Best thing to do is to take ibroprofen and stretch the region reguarly, whether exercising or not. But I'm not a doctor so you should consult your GP really.
