You sound just like me. I am 56,..and walk three and a half miles everyday...it seems that when we get into the fifties, it has to come of with a sledge hammer, huh?...I would stop eating anything white,...white bread, white fruit,...rice, anything carbohydrate..that seemed to be my culprit...and count your calories, sad to say...figure out what you want to weigh,...like if it is 135, then you need to start eating only 1350 calories a day...eat a balanced meal...fruits, ( just watch bananas, apples, etc..you can eat them, just don't over do it..) Eat lots of protein, and salad..and keep walking, it is the best you can do, I just lost 20 over a five month period...so the patience is the hard part...and you can do it!

1. Get a complete workup by your physician.
2. Be brutally honest about your diet & snacks & beverages. Keep a diary to see what & how often you eat. Are you drinking enough water each day?
3. Your physician may be able to see if its a thyroid, etc. problem. Also, if you have any other unknown problems, you can ask to be referred to a dietitian for a consult.
4. Flaxseed is very inexpensive. A few tsps to cereal, or water, a day can raise good HDL levels, while help you eliminate regularly. Frozen bags of vegetables, if you are a person on the go, can be heated up fast and had with each meal. Greens, spinach, brocholi, cauliflower, etc.
5. Find out how much protein your body requires a day from the dietitian, and varieties of ways to get that protein easily, when on the go.
6. Yes, you're 55, and you drive a different body than anyone else, so get it in for a tune-up.

i desire i had it that easy. I walked during the land mines of ky barefoot, extensive-unfold dealing with the phobia of dropping feet and having some thing explode interior the faces of me n my 25 brothers and sisters, yet we didnt get no learnin after 12 cuz we had to help mama rear the greater youthful'ns and school replaced right into a privaledge for the flowery shmancy. We walked over 2 mountains to get the well being practitioner, and the only time we went and have been given him have been for 2 motives, loss of life and beginning. I had rheumatoid fever and the mumps and the diarrhea multi functional day and that i had to go through via it at the same time as conserving Oda on my lap and peeling potatos for the dinner 2 days away bc we had to be seventy two hrs ahead or we aint gettin nuthin. 50 miles in snow woulda been a blessin, a real blessin.

Hun, I can relate totally. I've had issues with weight all my life, and I just had a baby and I'm nursing him, so it's just not coming off as quickly as I'd like. I wish there was a quick fix, but there isn't. You're just going to have to be patient with your body's natural rhythms of weight loss. The good thing is that you're exercising 5 days a week. Wow! You put a lot of us to shame. Keep it up, and don't get frustrated. You've probably hit a plateau, and are probably not as overweight as you think. Don't try to measure up to the weight you were when you were a teenager. That's virtually impossible to attain. Set realistic goals, and like I said, be patient with your body. It will let you know when the right time will be for you to reach your goal.

A friend of mine has been going to a specalist for this, he reccommended that she not eat dinner, exercise daily, and eat more vegetables. She has been on this program for 2 months and has lost 42 lbs already, granted she had a lot more to lose than 20-30lbs... but I have started to cut out my evening meal, and I am already seeing results after a week, I sleep better too, I dont know if thats part of it, but I like it!
Best of luck, It'll be hard... but you can do it.

Our metabolism slows down considerably after the age of 30. Find out what target excercising you could do for those areas. Walking isn't giving you the results you want. I would speak to a nutritionist as well

Hi
This simple plan worked wonders for me so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
Good luck

Walking alone doesn't do it. You may lose some weight but you also have to tone your body. Sit ups are good but start slow. also check with your doctor to see if you may be retaining water. You may need water bills.

Get 20 colonics in 30 days. Do liver, gallbladder, kidney, and candida cleanses. You buy all natural capsules at an organic store. Before each meal drink (1 teaspon of apple cider vinegar mixed with some water). Use digestive enzymes. Stay away from fast foods, sodas, white sugar, white flour, high fructose syrup, and artificial sweeteners. Drink lots of distilled water.
