stick the ring in a cauliflower from Harrods, wrap it in a red ribbon and have it hand delivered on Valentine's day (because the florists were out of roses and no one else could guarantee to deliver on time).

Ridiculous? No. true. My mum still goes red when dad brings cauliflower home.

My husband asked the waiter at the restaurant we were at to put the ring at the bottom of the glass and then pour the drink over it. The problem was he put too much ice on top of the ring so I didn´t realize it until my husband started making comments about how "a seemingly simple glass can have something special at the bottom". I finally realized even though it took me awhile but it was still the most romantic thing.

My man bought me a HUGE buch of gorgeous dark red roses and when he brought them to me he asked me to smell them. When I leaned in closer to smell them i noticed something sparkling. I looked closer and realised it was a diamond ring, when I looked up he was knelt down on one knee and said "i love you will you marry me?" I nearly cried it was so sweet. Better than the first time anyway he asked me if i wanted to get engaged because everyone was doing it at the moment, lol not a good way to ask!!

My father planned my mom a surprise birthday party and had Happy Birthday!!!Will you marry me on the cake? I thought that was really cute.I know someone else who blindfolded their girl, took her to a beautiful site(actually over the ocean) at night and proposed on his knee. That's more romantic.

My fiance and I woke up one morning and asked me to make some coffee and I opened the can of coffee and there was my ring. It was the most romantic thing that has ever happened to me.

my partners father in law spelt in out on Christmas day with scrabble - i thought this was lovely.

But the thing is my partners mum is soooooo blonde it took a while for it to sink in.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall and seen my father in laws face!
