She's just a girl. She shouldn't mean much more than just a friend but she seems to be taking over my life. Am I putting her on a pedestal?

I think you are finding yourself falling. It's a great feeling, huh? Try not to go too overboard, though. Take things very slow, and continue being "good" friends for a while, and see how things go. She how she reacts to subtle attention, and time spent together. Then, proceed from there. Don't overwhelm her, as sometimes that can cause people to panic and flee. Be yourself, and be happy. These things will show her that you are comfortable to be around. If after these things, you remain only "friends", is that really so bad?

maybe in the back of your mind, you know that she is not the type of girl you should be interested in. Your 6th sense may be trying you to stay away from her.

Awww.. how sweet! I think you are just finding someone who makes you tick, flicks your bic, floats your boat, whatever cliche you want. I'd tell her and see what happens!
