Sorreeeeeeeeee you got it all wrong, little buddy, we do pay taxes....so much for seperation of Church and State, huh???

Look to the Vatican for the money as we smaller denominations barely make it. They are so interested in their people they are starving all over the world...and the money just sets in banks and land.

You can just get tired all you want but it won't make a bit of difference.

My Church does it's missionary job not only in America, but all over the world just from a bunch of hard working people that love the Lord.
e do not judge you, but if you are looking for a handout you come to the wrong person.
IF FDR had let things alone the Churches would still be in the welfare business instead of the Government. So don't blame us when they tie our hands.

YOU will know US by our love for one another! We take care of each other first. If you are not one of us consider it a blessing you even have food in your mouth.
We run shelters and food centers and thrift stores.

When Katrina came thru we were one of the first to load up three semi's of food. We help everyone. We have maybe five hundred members. I think we do pretty good for a congregation. Most of us are poor, some are lawyers, some are doctors, maybe an Indian chief in there somewhere.

We do not own any land anyone else wanted. Matter of fact, we are in process of building a new Church. This is our third. In a little over three years our debt has more than three/fourths decreased.
We have been a blessing in the community wherever we are.

We have PRIME land within two shopping malls and tho others bid on it, God made a way for us to have it and we jumped at it. We will have a school, picnic area, trails etc..for Christians to "play" and enjoy.
Because you see, you do not want us in your hair. So do not be a "complainer" that is a iniquity, we are just doing what you all wanted all along..
We will be able to bow our head in prayer and not "public" where you are offended. We will be able to "praise God" without someone being offended.
It is our little Heaven on Earth.

So go ask the Vatican what they are doing with all that money? Go ask Islam what they are doing with all theirs. As for the Jews, you probably already have an opinion on them.

As for damage to the Constitution..etc....we do our best to make sure leaders are on the up and up. We vote in people who make a stand and stick with it. We are on their backs when they don't.
It's your voting, drugs, drunkedness, just plain SIN that you do not want to give up.... that has ruined the LAW...not OUR convictions! We usually end up paying the bill too, by the way. AND those tax dollars are as much ours are they are yours.

I posted this answer for someone who asked about satanists, perhaps it applies in some way here too:

Even if you think Christianity is total bull -- why don't you just take a moment to seriously ask the question, "Jesus if you are real and you care about me, show me in some kind of way that I cannot deny and I will follow you." If you can't do that very honest, low risk thing -- how can you expect God to spend any time trying to prove Himself to a hard heart?

This was my prayer and He did show me -- I am the most critical, cynical, logical person and became a Christian because I think it is the logically superior choice and it works -- on many levels and God constantly proves Himself to me because He knows I need all that logical stuff to get me through my lack of faith.

It consistently amazes me that the people who assert their open-mindedness are the most closed to new thoughts!

At least you got it right, Satan is a "g"od -- not GOD. I'm sorry there is so much hostility toward Satanists, I've read the Satanic Bible and see there is much to learn from in there....unfortunately what you fail to see and many fail to properly communicate is that as Christians we LOVE you and every other person on the planet! We want to find, promote, and share the TRUTH -- unfortunately, many don't know that by attacking a person or their beliefs you simply harden them to anything you have to say and put them on the defensive.

I have always said the worst thing about Christianity was other Christians.

EVERYONE WHO IS A PROFESSING CHRISTIAN -- please be LOVING and speak forth the truth in LOVE and pray before you respond with your emotions because you are potentially being a stumbling block to people who are at least open enough to discuss religion. You are missing a wonderful opportunity. No wonder people hate us so much!!! What if you are the reason someone chooses not to believe in Jesus and never gets the opportunity to believe again?

I am much more hurt by Christians than the rest of the world, because I have my guard down, thinking that we all read the same book and believe basically the same things......WRONG!

I am so tired of reading such mean, spiteful, and even angry responses from confessing Christians....it's a shame and very discouraging. We are to be filled with the Holy Spirit and guided by that Spirit and respond to others by that Spirit -- and God is LOVE -- tough love is fine with some people, but how do you know how to respond appropriately unless you pray and ask first?

wel...sounds like someone has some issues here. Not every Christian or Christian group or church is money grubbing or money laundering. Hello...you think this is only within churches or one facet of society? Lots ofland is owned by churches that could be used by businesses to make our government money? ROFL!!! Ok, so these businesses should have bought it first, or should offer to buy it at a fair market value. Someome could use the property YOU live on to make money for the government too, so should you fork it over?? What example am I missing of tax payer money being used to settle Christian disputes?? And we do more damage to the constitution? Funny...seems the Christians aren't the people constantly using the ACLU and other people to fight to get the ten commantments taken out of buildings or to tkae In God We Trust off our money. Shoot...this garbage is done by the same people who have carried the same money for YEARS and said the same pledge for YEARS and walked the same halls with the same Christian things there for YEARS and just NOW they are mad?? Odd. What exactly do we as Christian need to PAY for our religious beliefs? What do Catholics pay?? Bapstist? Atheists?? Don't like the stuff you see on television? Do what the Christians do with the porographic stuff and the shows they don't like...change the channel. You have free speech and free will like the rest of us. I'm not judging you, rather will state plain as day...you are fully entitled to your own beliefs and opinions. However, I am also entitled to mine. Believe or don't believe, but I personally don't need a God in my life because I can't live in reality. Reality is, God created you and I. God will reutrn one day and take His people home. Myself...I am ready. Are you? Laugh. Reply nasty. I don't care. I am sorry you feel the way you do, and hope this is just a bad day for you. I totally dn't understand most of what you are trying to state....
Other groups are tax free...should they put up or shut up too??? LOL!!! What exactly do you think our government would earn if the churches were not tax free?? They get what 35% of every tax payer;s money every pay day. They are trillions of dollars in debt, and you think making a church no longer tax exempt would sove this issue?? It goes way deeper than that. One must learn to budget and handle their money before being given more. But hey...thanks for sharing your opinion here in Yahoo answers.

Yep, let's close all those Catholic schools and universities, orphanages, hospitals, cancer homes, drug centers, old age homes, hospices, battered womens shelters, Catholic charities centers, Catholic relief centers, and many more outreach programs to the poor and working class and shove the bills for replacing them, which in the United States alone would be over $100 BILLION, yes thats right $100 billion, to the American taxpayer. All because you'r not too intelligent when it comes to how much the United States is saving because of the Roman Catholic church in the United States. If fact you are pretty stupid because all the information you need is out there for you to see. To collect a few million you would rather pay out over $100 billion to build up what the Catholic Church does and put untold burdens on millions of Americans and disrupt millions of lives across the country because you don't like religion. I know the school districts alone in Ohio would go under instantly they would not beable to absorb the cost. So mayber before you tell people to shut up and start paying taxes you might just want to see how much they give too you and the rest of society instead . You are too dumb to live in reality. I think we should ask all religions to close their facilities across the country so people like you would have to build all new ones with your money and see just how much you'll like the tax burden then. Think off all the universites that would have to be closed across the country. Wow you'll get a really educated society then.

Wow ... some pretty flaming ignorance (if not blatant anti-religious bigotry) going on in this lovely message.

Where to begin?

First, the thing about churches' "controversies" costing taxpayer money. I mean no disrespect -- but that's a crock of horse manure.

Churches receive NO money from taxpayer-funded sources. Not one red cent.

Thus, the churches' "controversies" don't cost the taxpayers a thing.

Secondly, there are LOTS of organizations out there that are tax-exempt. Most of them are not religious.

The fact that you're advocating the idea of yanking churches' tax-exempt status -- while letting non-religious groups keep theirs -- speaks volumes as to your mindset.

That mindset, in short, is one of a raging anti-religious bigot.

Third, you rail against people judging you -- but you don't seem to mind doing a little "judging" yourself.

You seem like a very angry person. Or, you seem like a person who feels a psychological need to discredit religion because it teaches things that simply do not jive with your desires and lifestyle.

Either way, it's no excuse for your raging anti-religious ranting and bigotry.

You know what I think christian should pay a property tax. Let individual pay their tax on their income. I believe we as christian people should render to Cesar the things that are Cesar's and to God the things that are God's... I have answered the Proof question so many times I'm starting to see it in my sleep. There is no Proof not of what you believe not for what I believe, I have evidence that has lead me into my life of faith. I assume you have evidence that you continue in your life of sin. If I am wrong we both lay dead in a hole for eternity. If I am right I will enter the Joy of my Lord where will you be? The hole?... Jim

Just wait...You will soon see....

I will continue to support BOTH my chosen Religion and the Government. But I wii tell you the Government has taken FAR more of my money yet has in fact done FAR LESS with it! Unless you count giving millions to study the mating rituals of the forest tree frog or 140 bucks for a hammer and 2 nails!!!

My, my, my. Aren't we cranky today. And exactly why do you group yourself in the 'WE' category? Unfortunately, you have the right to express your opinions, but you probably won't find a lot of support of those opinions. Hope you won't be needing any services (food, rent or utility assistance, for example) from faith-based groups that otherwise will help YOU in YOUR time of need.

So...who are you to judge the Christians?
And what makes your system of faith so right?
It seems to me like your way of thinking is the same type of mentality that leads us into these damn wars.
Perhaps you should make peace with your self and your God, if you have one, and reconsider the direction you anger is taking you.

I pray for your guidance,
Aho,

Since roughly 80% of the citizenry of the United States believes in God, and 63% call themselves Christian, that makes us "WE THE PEOPLE". Majority rules- minority rights! We will allow you ungodly freaks to continue to live here, but keep quiet. You are overruled by the majority, now shut up and take it like a man. And you had better be good or we may vote in an idiot tax for unbelieving people like you.
