Every year the US Stae Department gives tests, usually around November I think. Then when you pass you will be assigned a post. If it is a Foreign post you will, if not already, go to Washington to learn the language of that country. You will be assigned to that country for 3 years and then transferred to another. Very interesting job. Your education background is important for hiring. good luck

Be of good social standing in society. The FBI do a background check on you plus your family. In order to work in an American Embassy abroad you must have a degree. Some require you to have a foreign language. But most are recommend to positon in embassies

You can go to the web site of the particular embassy you are interested in and generally they have job postings. The postings list the various jobs offered and the qualifications needed.
