Hi there...kitties who behave badly it's best to give a time out--take her off of you and then get up and walk away. Kittens/cats want attention (even attack kitties) so by giving her a time out this is another version of punishment, but humane. Squirting water actually increases a cats aggression so it's best not to use it (this is a common method passed down for generations, but now has statistically shown doesn't work well enough). As a general rule with bad behaviour animal trainers ignore the animal or leave the area for a minute or two. To encourage good behaviour we reward them with one small food treat (not their usual meal food) each time. Hide a small bag of treats around your home where you can reach for it anytime kitty behaves but can't find it and sneak off with the whole jackpot. The best treats are something that is about the size of pea. The idea is to get kitty to work for her rewards. One good behaviour = one treat. Soon over time she will learn that you two have an understanding...you get what you want and so does she--food! Have patience this reward system takes time to work, but with kittens it usually is quick. Keep it up for as long as you can as you'll soon learn you can get her to do amazing behaviours for you like sitting when you ask her to sit too. Cats are quite brilliant and can learn just as much as a dog if we learn how to win them over.

You need to give her other things to scratch. Those scratching posts you see in stores that look cheap and pointless, Ive finally bought one after years and years of owning a cat, and they love it. At first they didnt know what to use it for, so I rubbed catnip all over it and now its constantly used for scratching. Another thing is you can't give the kitten a chance to climb up your legs. If u see her ready to climb, walk away, move or tell her no then. (you know the whole stop it b4 it starts therory) Sounds like you definitly need more for her to scratch on. You can also buy these like glued together cardboard things, the one at the shelter has the words whisker city on the side of it. Just go to a pet store, and you'll find tons of things. Good Luck, hope i have been of some help!

About the only thing you can do is have her declawed. I know it sounds cruel, but unless your cat is going to be an outdoor cat, you'll save skin, curtains and furniture if you have her declawed.
If declawing is not an option, just put her down on the floor and say NO every time she starts to scratch.
My cats were both declawed and they still will rub their pads over my legs when they get in my lap. It's a way for the cat to make your lap or any other area comfortable before they lay down.

don't yell at her try letting her know your the boss by grabbing her firmly but not hard. just enough to let her know who's boss and exposing her underbelly might work hold her like this until she stops struggling. and if that doesn't work then get her a scratching post or get her de-clawed,if shes an outdoor cat only do the front ones. Oh and wear a jacket and gloves to prevent any injury to you or the animal.

I've got one thing to tell you. Buy a stretching post for cats and you can get them at any pet stores, and you know what to put on that post right??. Well, not that many people heard of this before, but have you ever heard of CAT NIP. You can either get them at any pet stores nearby, but ask someone who is working there for a package. Another way, is planting them, you can get those seeds from any store and plant them in your backyard. Also, buy your cat any fake, stuffed mouses in pet stores. Once, you get cat nip, rub it between your hands and spread it all over your stretching post that you bought and the mouse. She will love the smell and play every time you rub cat nip. She'll go crazy when she licks the post or the mouse. She'll run around the house crazy. But it's fun for your cat, so then she won't crawl up your legs.

When she does that, hiss at her and bop her lightly on the nose. That's how a momma cat disciplines a naughty kitten, so she'll understand that she's done something bad. Do it every time, and she'll learn that climbing up legs is not a good idea pretty quickly.

if it doesn't work try with treats
