Keep it neutral. A nice place to eat.

Conversation is important on the first few dates so avoid movies. Go to a interesting resturant (like a sushi bar or a mexican place). I'd avoid bars and night clubs.

For some more imaginative things (not all are great for conversation but they can be so much fun):
Art museums, amusement parks, music concerts/theater shows, a day out in a city (if you happen to live near one), picnic in the park, biking, bowling, laser tag, rock climbing, and going to the beach can all be fun dates.

A good firt date is always to go bowling. Bowling is a good first date because you get to give one another space and you can still have fun. Whereas going to the movies can be awkward because you're in a dark room inches away from someone and you can't talk to them. Bowling alleys are loud and talking tends to just happen naturally. Miniture golf is another good 1st date for this reason. Bowling is better because you get to check out the persons physique without getting caught staring. (at least from behind)

It depends on if its a day date or evening date I personally think the perfect day date would be to go to a zoo or a park so that you could talk and have fun then go to lunch or maybe dinner depending on the time of day but otherwise for a evening date dinner and maybe bowling just for fun definitely have a meal together and not any fast food

I agree - coffee or drinks is best. You don't want anything that is neccessarliy time consuming - what if you don't have much in common? Then after a drink or a coffee you can be on your way. On the other hand, if it is working then you can have some more drinks. You just want to talk and get to know her on the first date.

Second date - if you like each other enough - then go for dinner, a film (I hate going to movie theaters personally), go clubbing (my fave!), go to the zoo, art galary, go-kart racing, horse riding, water slide park, whatever.

I think something like a picnic or bowling is better than a movie. You can talk more and get to know each other. Best of luck and have a great time!

I like to go to Starbucks, because the atmosphere is comfortable, its not too expensive and if the meeting is not going well, you only have to stay as long as it takes to drink a cup of coffee. If the date IS going well, you can always take off from there....
