God, etc. Don't you have preachers, or men from the church you attend to "learn" from? Many of you tell Atheists and other groups here to get off this forum if they don't like the questions and or answers. Well why do you need to come to this forum to "learn"? Why don't you just ask your question in church or bible study? Maybe you don't know as much as you think and you are just a bit curious about us Atheists?
So the question would be: What is the real reason you frequent this forum?

blackscythe16: If I want to know the subject I do go to an expert not the kid in the back of the room.
hmeshow: Pity, I'm curious about you.
Shrek: Pity you can't answer questions very well, hope you get better.
JimB: I'm just as religious & spritiual as you. I don't hate God I question God - after all He did provide the brain that has the questions, now didn't He? And even He would say that you are never too old to learn.
Will: Good question, ask them.
Native: I tried to send you an email. Your answer touched me sincerely, thank you.
SAHM2_1B-1G: You will never have all the answers, you are never too old to learn anything. But most of all, come down off your high horse & learn more from some of the wonderful answers here from Christians. They have the right answer.

I frequent this forum to share the Love of Christ with anyone who is interested. To be a help to someone with a question, if I am knowledgeable enough to answer it. Basically, just to try an be a light to someone and maybe lift someones spirits today. I never criticize anyone and I won't start with you. I wish you happiness. Have a nice day.

Most of these religious fanatics (in every group) all think that their faith is the only 1 that is right... except for the Jews, the Jews do not condemn everyone that isn't Jewish to a "Hell" and next to the Muslims/Hindus and every other minority religion in the USA they aren't knockin on your door either to interfere with your life...

Faith is not Fact, or it wouldn't be called faith... I believe this to be true, yet a belief is not fact either, so does that mean because what I believe to be true based on my faith is fact? Of course not!

The people that want to "spread the gospel" are people with pretty pathetic lives to begin with as they show they have nothing better to do with their time.

I Love God, I just can't stand some of his fans... as they go thru life picking and choosing parts of the Bible they want to abide by. The wacko Christians believe the New Testament wiped the slate clean of the Old Testament laws and other things God forbids - yet they feel a need to complain when the 10 Commandments can't be displayed in an area where a law has been placed. Why? Commandment # 1 - Thou shall not have other Gods before ME - yet they worship Jesus, which is a contradiction to that commandment.. why would God send someone down to Earth to break his own commandment?

People that claim to be religious are the same people are easily manipulated...

You don't want to believe in God so be it, I don't care and neither should anyone else. If you truly thought your religion is the only right religion than why are there different sects in every religion, different sects mean you don't agree on everything...

Just my thoughts...

False religion is depicted in the Bible book of
Revelation as a "prositute" riding on the back of a
"beast" like political system. (Revelation 17) It is a
historical fact that most of the world's religions
"borrowed" theirteachings, doctrines, customs, and
holidays from the ancient mystery religions of ancient
Babylon. Hence "mystery" Babylon the Great, false
religion got its start with Nimrod. After God confused
the languages at the tower of Babel people took their
beliefs with them. In time these beliefs spread out
across the earth and were adopted by other nations.
The Bible foretells that the goverments of this world
will turn against religion before Christ's judgement comes

I have no problem with atheists coming here because they want to learn. However, I do have a problem with atheists who come here merely to whine and carp and complain; atheists who come to try to disrupt things.

Say this was a forum for asking questions about beer-making. Wouldn't it be annoying if a bunch of teetotalers came here to answer every question with "Beer is a myth Beer doesn't exist!"

Recently I asked atheists here whether they had read either of two books on religion. Some had read them. Some were curious. But there were some who said they had no desire to learn anything. Why are those atheists here?

I "frequent" this forum because I like to survey the opinions of my "neighbours". And yes I do learn things (even good things!) I never heard of in church.

When was the last time you heard a sermon on loving your enemy (Matt 5:24) or forgiving "those who trespass against us" (Matt 6:14&15)?

Whether you are Atheist, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist or whatever "religion", I think that if there was more compassion and forgiveness in this world there would be less hate and war mongering.

Do we have problems in our world that many on this forum are complaining about and that we would like to be solved?

Love is the answer - whatever the question!

I don't come to this forum for that reason but I can see easily why one would. The Freeworld American Christian Churches have become whitewashed tombs from years of only teaching the people barely enough to survive. Most preachers in this country don't even fully know what they believe.

The real reason I personally frequent this forum is an even exchange of information. I have wisdom to share and others have wisdom to share with me.

I come here see from others perspective. It's a shame that more people can't just listen to what others have to say and respect their belief. I am a Christian but I will listen to other peoples ideas in search of truth and understanding. I try my best to think about every ones theories in a logical unbiased way and form my own opinion. I could go to church and ask questions but then I would only get one theory or one answer from one category of many people.

Christians aren't interested in learning.

You couldn't get half of them to read the Quran, The Origin of Species, or anything else they don't agree with, if their life depended on it.

They can't claim to be interested in "learning" if they avoid the opposing side of every issue.

Nope, they are here because of a need to feel that other people believe in the stuff that they do. They need some sort of validation of their beliefs. It's sad really.

I am here to spread the Gospel, answers serious questions, as best I can, about our faith, the triune God, and the Scriptures, and refute error. I really don't come here to learn anything, but there are some questions that have caused me to dig into the Scriptures and other resources for answers, which benefits me and others.

Christian (like the other Middle Eastern religions) philosophy does not bear the weight of its own philosophy.
Christians can not explain their philosophy for long because they rely soley on their feelings. To talk logically is to confuse them and wind up toasted on a stake in Salem...or wherever is convinient for them.
Their philosophy is a "by-the-moment" philosophy. Whatever they believe now, WILL contradict what they believe earlier...and they will get so confused when you try to bring their two contradicting beliefs together.
They are just not programmed to question logically.
So, it is not surprising they want to feed aethists and agnostics to the lions...oh wait....those are Romans....Christians prefer burning and torture--even genocide-- to get their opponents to conform.

I like crossroads answer.
