I'm going to college in two days and am trying not to get sick. I've been taking Airborne, drinking tea, and getting rest (as much rest as I can while still trying to get things ready for college). Am I past the incubation period for the common cold?

Actually their is no real set time period. My boss had the flu and after four weeks I thought I was in the clear. Yeah right!!!! That is what I get for thinking. I was sicker than a dog for almost two weeks! It took over a month to get it too! Go figure! The flu is real lousy this year but in my opinion, it wasn't nearly as bad as last years. And as far as taking green tea daily, I have been driking that for a long long time now also and still got sick. But I still rave about the effects of it for the immune system though. I'm convinced I would get far more sicker than without the tea.

The first thing not to do is take any cold medications because if you did contract the cold virus from your co-worker then your body is going to be immune to the medication and thats not going to help you none. Your putting your self up for the sickness of stress. What you need to do is stop for a second and stop worrying about getting sick. Sooner or later your going to end up sick not because you caught it from your co-worker but because that's reality. Keep getting as much rest as possible like your doing know. Drinking tea is helpful of reliving stress. Your not even in the incubation period sounds like to me. You just need to calm down. Listen since your so worryed about being sick your going to get sick by stress. Here's some more advise, eat fruit lots of it. And veges. Eat foods that have high amounts of protien and potassium and vitamins. These things will help your immune system become stronger to fight off infections, viruses, and bacteria!
