This is a misconception. Each individual comes to this existence with a lesson planned out of their own choosing - and beyond that, the deal is you think it, we will send it. I know it is hard to remember, but really, that's the deal.

Some of you want the Advanced lessons, the hardest course and some of you keep asking for things to get harder by concentrating on lack and pain and hardship - you can't pin this on me. You think it, I send it - that's all. If you have any complaints you can lodge it with the appropriate department when you get home.

Well put it this way I dont know if you believe in the bible but is says the when Adam and Eve ate the the apple that the main reason was for them to get knowledge and that they would no longer need God. That was the reason he ate the fruit. Its not what God wanted but adam and eve must have cause that was the reason the ate the fruit. Unforseen occurances befalls us all. There is a lot of things that happen and we dont know or understand why. It also says we should not question God. I guess we will never know till the right time and that I guess is our judgement day

I've never heard anyone ask "God why do you let such good things happen to me?" I mean its only when bad things come our way that its Gods fault. The bible says that God doesnt do anything bad to us, not even to test us or help us grow because nothing bad can come from him...but he does USE bad things to help us grow and to help us see where our heart really is.

What causes bad things to happen to good and bad people is ourselves. We live in a sinful world (no matter how cliche that sounds) and that effects everyone no matter how much you sin. It even effected Jesus who never sinned at all! The great thing about God though, is that he knows what its like, and he will comfort us.

Hebrews 2:18 says: "Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted."

Are you a good person? What terrible thing has God done to you? Are you sure your problems don't come by 1. your own errors or 2. the evil other men are doing in the world or 3. the natural world that has been contaminated by sin since the beginning.. Do you want God to start forcing you to do what He would have you do or do you like your freedom? Everyone else loves freedom to so Stop blaming God for the evil in men's hearts... Jim

The only way to understand the answer to this question is to look at it from the perspective of an eternal Creator. If you are an eternal Creator, and you create beings who are themselves eternal, and you create a plan whereby these beings are guaranteed to find a path back to your eternal love, then nothing that happens in this lifetime, or a thousand lifetimes, can be seen as all that bad.

Consider the child's limited perception of time. If as a loving parent you find your child playing with matches, which you know is an action that could cause devastation to the child and possibly others, you would take steps to teach the child NOT to play with matches. Maybe you would stand the child in a corner for 15 minutes. To the child, whose perception makes 15 minutes seem like an eternity, this punishment may seem horrible. The child may even curse you in it's thoughts and wonder how you could be so mean to it. Yet you know that 15 minutes is a drop in the bucket of this child's life, and the lesson is vastly more important than this insignificant amount of suffering.

This is the perspective of a loving, eternal Creator. Your perspective is that of the child. No matter what happens in this life, you are eternal and will be welcomed back to the loving lap of the Creator where the memory of all sorrows will be erased, and you will come to know unspeakable Love and everlasting Joy.

Another analogy that helps would be that of a cast of actors in a dramatic movie. Each actor has chosen to play a specific role. Some of the actors play good guys and some play bad guys. The role played is not the true nature of the actor, who in reality is a completely different person from the role. No matter what you see happen to the actor on screen, you also realize that the real person who played the role is perfectly fine and perfectly safe. There is no reason to feel bad for the actor even if terrible things happen to the on-screen role he played.

Consider the parable of the Little Soul:

"You may choose to be any Part of Me you wish to be," God said to the Little Soul. "You are Aboslute Divinity, experiencing Itself. What Aspect of Divinity do you now wish to experience as You?"

"You mean I have a choice?" asked the Little Soul.

And God answered, "Yes. You may choose to experience any Aspect of Divinity in, as and through you."

"Okay," said the Little Soul, "then I choose Forgiveness. I want to experience my Self as that Aspect of God called Complete Forgiveness."

Well, this created a challenge, as you can imagine. There was no one to forgive. All God created is Perfection and Love.

"No one to forgive?" asked the Little Soul, somewhat incredulously.

"No one," God repeated. "Look around you. Do you see any souls less perfect, less wonderful than you?"

At this the Little Soul twirled around, and was surprised to see himself surrounded by all the souls in heaven. They had come from far and wide throughout the Kingdom, because they heard that the Little Soul was having an extraordinary conversation with God.

"I see none less perfect than I!" the Little Soul exclaimed. "Who, then, shall I have to forgive?"

Just then, another soul stepped forward from the crowd. "You may forgive me," said this Friendly Soul.

"For what?" the Little Soul asked.

"I will come into your next physical lifetime and do something for you to forgive," replied the Friendly Soul.

"But what? What could you, a being of such Perfect Light, do to make me want to forgive you?" the Little Soul wanted to know.

"Oh," smiled the Friendly Soul, "I'm sure we can think of something."

"But why would you want to do this?" The Little Soul could not figure out why a being of such perfection would want to lower it's vibration so much that it could actually do something "bad."

"Simple," the Friendly Soul explained, "I would do it because I love you. You want to experience your Self as Forgiving, don't you? Besides, you've done the same for me."

"I have?" asked the Little Soul.

"Of course. Don't you remember? We've been All Of It, you and I. We've been the Up and the Down of it, the Left and the Right of it, the Here and There of it and the Now and Then of it. We've been the Big and Small of it, Male and Female of it, and the Good and Bad of it. We've ALL been the ALL of It.
"And we've done it by agreement, so that each of us might experience ourselves and The Grandest Part of God." The Friendly Soul then explained that people are God's Special Angels, and these conditions God's Gifts.

"I ask only one thing in return," the Friendly Soul declared.

"Anything! Anything," the Little Soul cried. He was excited now to know that he could experience every Divine Aspect of God. He understood, now, The Plan.

"In the moment that I strike you and smite you," said the Friendly Soul, "in the moment that I do the worst to you that you could ever imagine - in that self-same moment... remember Who I Really Am."

Ok lets see it this way

good things for good ppl
bad things for bad ppl

now taking that into equation .. every child is born free of sin ( good ) .. then what makes him bad later on ?

if things were so simple .. wouldnt earth be called heaven ? the point of mixing it all up is simple .. who passes the test. everything is a test man .. sort of like saying "will you still be good if your life was a bit messed up , lets see what sort of a character do you have" .. dont forget that if bad things are happening to good ppl , then good things are happening to bad ppl aswell.. when we all know that shouldnt be the case .. but basically for them its a test as well .. sort of like saying "will you mend ur ways if i give you the chance?"

that is my cents in the situation

It makes for some interesting viewing...

Do you think that God really cares that we suffer during our lifetimes. To God our lives are an insignificant blimp in the course of an eternal life time. If you believe that the soul is truly immortal then why would you really care that people suffer...it would only be temporary...right?

Can anyone grow stronger without trials? Perhaps there is more to this life than simply enjoying a life of ease and plenty. Perhaps it is a time to learn and grow. A test to see what we will do with what we are given and how we will deal with the trials and hardships that come our way.

Read "The Hiding Place" for a very good illustration of this.

I think this may help to sum it up

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this Happen?" (regarding Katrina)

Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.

And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school . the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says

Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

God only let us go through what we can handle. and when a Christian is going through bad times it's b/c the devil is trying to bring them down and to lose their faith in God b/c that is what the devil wants is for everyone to do what he wants b/c God has a BIG plan for that person (his children)
