HI! Take a deep breath as if you were yawning. Now let it out slowly while you sing. Don't sing too loudly. A medium loud sound is best (mezzo forte) for practicing. Keep your throat relaxed and pay attention to all the little details like rhythm, correct words, phrasing and diction. When you get the song memorized ask to sing for your mom or dad or best friend. Whoever is supportive of you. As for the high notes, you must support with the breath and open your mouth and pop it up there. I get my students to use imagery. I have them think about jumping on a trampoline or reaching way up to pop a balloon or just focusing on a tall image like a pyramid. Besides all that, at 14 your voice could be still changing. Yes, girls voices change too. We all start out as sopranos, but in adolescence some girls voices change and they end up being altos. Good luck!

It's very possible to learn to sing well. You just need to know the right methods. Learn here https://tinyurl.im/aH6ZQ Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. Singing can be learned so it's not an "either you have it or you don't" kind of thing. Whether you sound like crap or you're decent, I recommend this singing course. It's one of the best methods to learn to sing well in a short amount of time. It's all about using efficient techniques that work.

I was also in high School chorus for 4 yrs. I never made it to be great....but now years later, I finally have the confidence to sing in front of others. The confidence you seek will come in time.
Your voice is still young, not reached it's adult vibrancy and tone yet. The best thing for you to do is to sing loud. The louder I sing, the better I sound, and I find this true of other singers as well.
Get yourself an inexpensive karaoke machine, and practice in private in front of a mirror. This is a real help.
Always remember, if you love to sing, do it! Practice makes perfect.

RE:

I can't get singing lessons or anything cuz 1. I can't afford them 2. I'm not confident enough to sing in front of people. I'm in chorus at school, going on my fifth year in one. But I need to learn things to do to make me sing better/stronger. And also how can I be more...

These days you can learn how to play guitar over the internet. Check out Mark McKenzie's guitar video lessons here: http://www.jamoramaguitar.com The videos are very easy to follow and to my surprise extremely helpful even for advanced guitar players. For beginners I would have to say this is a gold mine.
I was able to improve my skills in just under 4 weeks and I am an intermediate-to-advanced guitar player; I've been playing guitar for the past 6 years and I was on stage with my band a lot of times.
I live in New York City, I wanted to go to a pro guitar teacher but that would have cost me over $1400 per month. Good thing with this internet, $1400 it's a lot of money for me. Good luck!

There is this great book I purchased just weeks ago. It's called "Set Your Voice Free" by Roger Love, and it includes a CD with exercises. Roger Love is a professional vocal coach, so it feels like he's right there with you. I, too, wanted to learn to sing; and believe me I started from zero, and already I'm discovering my head voice (those super high notes I could not dream of reaching before). But make sure you practice often. I looked up this book on Amazon.com and it had good reviews so I bought it. Seriously, best $15 that I have ever spent.
Good luck to you!

hmm. i feel your dilemma, and i think i have an idea. if you have a mixer, take the CD you want to sing to and connect it to the mixer. when it is connected, turn the voice channel down. This way, the voice is still there, but its harder to hear. Another idea is to keep singing with the artist, but gradually practice singing without the music or the artist. later sing with just the music when you feel confident.

Get a coach for your singing. More confidently? Simple. Get a karaoke machine in your bedroom, and sing in front of your mirror. Practice your movements so they look natural. When you are in front of an audience, make believe they are all in their underwear.
Good Luck

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tinyurl.im/aH6r7 Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour. Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland. Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.
