I think-- and, of course I cannot speak for atheists, nor would I want to-- that they are offended by a rejection of reason and the embrace of mythology.

Perhaps they are unable to distinguish between mere ignorance and willful ignorance. I know I am.

As an atheist, I don't really care, philosophically, what the Christians choose to believe. I care very much when they've got it in my face all the time "God Bless America," "In God We Trust," etc., and when they ever so smugly tell atheists we're in denial when I see it as their being in denial of the facts. I'm not "offended" by their embrace of mythology, and that's what it is: mythology--I'm "offended" by their holier-than-thou attitudes and their incorrect assumption that atheists can't have high moral standards.

If Christians want to insult Atheists with questions like these, we will tell you that your beliefs are bogus. If you have "atheist" in your title question, we're gonna read it and we're gonna comment on it. Why won't Christians stop looking for a fight????

I see many atheist calling Christians bigots on this site but they are just as bigoted for all their criticizims of Christians. They don't look in the mirror. A bigot is a bigot whether they are Christian or atheist. If atheist weren't bigots they wouldn't care about Christians wanting to be Christians.

You are correct in your thinking, at least in my case. Also religion harms the world as a whole, and it holds us all back, whether we believe in it or not. That's why I care.

I think if they were not so annoying about it and if they posed no threat to my freedom, that I wouldn't care much.
