yeah, well as an irishman who travelled 2 the uk alot over the past 25 yrs, i can understand both sides of this argument. not 1 person killed in the troubles died, 4 the overwhelming majority of people in their name. 99 per cent of the people on this island totally abhor ed the killings on both sides of the divide, but, because the terrorists were claiming, wrongly, that it was for ireland, we suffered the consequences of intimidation, and searches while travelling. thats the world we lived in then, and thats the way it has 2 be today.

Don't be so ridiculous! And how, when a police officers sees someone walking along the road, do they KNOW that person is a muslim?

Should all Rastafarians be stop searched for drugs?

You seem narrow minded and biggoted - are you saying that all muslims look the same? And that all muslims are a threat to society all over the world.

Open your eyes - and for once, ACT LIKE A CHRISTIAN!!!! Being a Christian does not give you the automatic right to be PIOUS and think that your own s"*t don't stink!

After 9/11 I was working in Germany and flying home to London each weekend.

Each week they picked out 8 people from a full plane load of people to do a thorough search....opening suitcases etc. at the gate as well as the 2 searches of our hand luggage. I was picked out 3 times in a row for 3 Fridays. I am white, female, Christian, and my name couldn't be more English!

I did find it strange that the threat then (and at the moment) was/is the expected attack by Muslim extremists, and that they were picking out mostly white christian people.....probably just to be politically correct. I didn't actually mind after the first week.....(From the second week onwards I made sure I packed my case tidily!!!)

If Christian extremists were making a habit of bombing planes in Muslim countries would the authorities there be profiling Muslims or Christians for a search? If that were the case, and I was a white Christian travelling in a Muslim country I would not mind being searched in preference to a Muslim. I'd be pleased that they were taking every precaution to make the flight safe!!

No one can argue that the majority of terrorists are muslim and Muslim terrorists can only be stopped by the muslim community when they get the balls to tackle the problem then the rest of the nation may be a little more sympathetic to the culture until then search anyone that looks muslim or acts muslim.Better to be safe than dead or nursing a national disaster. If muslim leaders sympathise so much with the "cause" then they wont mind there people being put out a little so muslims who have a problem with being singled out have only got their religous leaders to blame.

Yes it is necessary four our safety! I'm sick to the eyeballs of the PC brigade telling us what to do, how the Brits should live their lives but letting people who have never paid a penny in taxes live how they wish. I pay a lot of council tax (a portion of which as we know goes towards the police force) and if the government aren't going to do their job properly and protect their citizens then I will refuse to pay it any more. I do believe however that the airport officials should still search everyone of different colour, race and age because even though 99% of the terrorists are muslims, there's that 1% who could be some freak wanting to bomb a plane for another insane reason. We need to get tough before it's too late. If I were muslim (I'm atheist) then I would have no problem whatsoever in being searched because I would want to prove to the world that I fully support the country I have chosen to live in and their way of life.

I'm a Christian who believes that it is illogical and hysterical. So, you stop and search anyone that looks like a Moslem? What does a Moslem look like? Middle eastern? Not all. There are white, black, all colours of the human spectrum. Do you stop and search anyone that dresses like a Moslem? Well, that's silly. A Hawaiian shirt and a shave suddenly become the perfect disguise. The best people to find out who these trouble makers are are the Moslems themselves. If you alienate them, what do you have left?

So you are saying it is ok for you to be stopped and searched in a muslim country just because you are a christian?

Please tell me what reference to scripture you, as a christian, are justifying passing judgement on someone mearly based on their religious beliefs?

I could not find it in my Bible. In my Bible I did find "judge not lest ye be judged" and a whole bunch of references talking about loving sinners and loving the "lost" (as referenced to non believers)

If today's world is in fact so dangerous that searches are necessary (which it is not) then search everyone or no one.

Let's not forget this would also be a violation of our Constitution.

Also... Timothy McVey was not a muslim.

Dang right! Public rectal cavity searches for all Muslims, just like all the public stoning they do to women caught cheating on their husbands!

I disagree with you. Dont stereotype all Muslims into being "terrorists" and are out to get you. I believe that it is necessary when it comes to public safety yes to be vigilant but no to be paranoid that every darkskinned person will try to kill you. There are white people who will want to kill you too.

I as a Muslim completely agree with you on this one. As a matter of fact, we Muslims should wear some sort of sign on our arms so we can be identified from distant... Kinda like what Hitler did to Jews. This world will be a much better place then.

May God protect us from Plus + sign followers like "whynotaskdon".
