There's a great line in "Inherit the Wind" where Bertram Cates (the character representing Scopes) is quoted as having said something like, "God created man in his own image, and man returned the favor."
My opinion, pretty much backed by scientific fact, is that none of the various gods worshipped by various people, exist. All cultures seem to have a need to create a religion, and "modern" cultures are no different.

Only in your own mind does he exist. Man created all the gods and the religion to go along with them.

man created god as a deterent against things, it would have started with early tribal leaders inventing icons to scare there followers into doing things there way, ie early things that would have been considered god like were fire, water the sun, the moon large and ferocious creatures and so on gods were just fuelled against mans fears, and rules and ways of life were fashioned by those fears it was i suppose an early form of policing, for uncivilised races. as the brain became more developedl gods were used to help the chosen few create and gain power and wealth, which is still the main purpose today. it really did spiral out of control and even today the chosen few can still make the masses do and beleive anything, hence war, politics, and strife all in the name of religion or god. the best film to watch to echo my thoughts is 2001 a space oddesy the first part of that sums up what i have just explained perfectly. and as for a god of substance sorry its just an acient fairytale that has suckered millions and millions in hence a planet full of hate and disturbance...

God created us. He exists. The bible is true.
If you have a bible read the book of John to start out with and ask more questions. The bible proves itself to be true in many ways. One of those is prophecy. Another is archeology. Another is the fact that it was written over a long period of time (around 1200 years) by about 40 people who were inspired by God and yet it doesn't contradict itself. It is harmonious from the beginning to the end.
Keep asking questions. God says that those who seek Him will find Him.

We created the "idea" of god. God isn't going to just pop into existance, no matter how many people believe, so it's not really right to say that we created god.

That is easily answered.
Since we are not the orignator of all the actions that led to our creation, we certainly are not God.
However, no one has ever disproved that God is this first Action of all creation.
Logic still states that God exists. "For every action in the universe there is a cause and reaction".
God is the Cause. I won't even get into the logic of the proof of Love.

Yes he exists. Let me tell you why scientist and athiests do not believe in him. #1 There is FAR more reason in believing that this universe, world, and every living species is created intelligently/purposely, the theory of "evolution" is just that, a theory, and an unproven one at that! More and more scientists are backing away from the claims of evolution on the count of not having any way of proving it. #2 If "evolution" is proven unvalid, then the only other rational option is a universe created by God, and science and athiest will NOT be proven wrong, so they purposely hold on to their false beliefs. After all if they believe that they came from monkeys, let em believe it, who cares. I dare any athiest to read the book "Creation" by Grant R. Jeffrey with an open mind and THEN make your decision, its proven all around you, God exists
