I have a 2 year old and I want to put him on a schedule. Are there any sites of daily things to do with a 2 year old to assist in things like brain development, etc.

I have 2 other children..a 14 year old girl and a 9 year old girl. When my daughter was 2 I started working at a daycare and quit when she was 5 because I was pregnant with her brother, who I stayed home with until he started school. I could tell a big difference in their behavior and intellect..I think alot had to do with my daughter being on a set schedule daily and my son just basically playing all day.

Yes, basically children learn a lot thru peers and environment around them. You can set a routine for your child from the start of the day. From meal time to learning time. Then play time to nap time. Let your child be involved in your housework too like simple activities such as wiping tables. Children will enjoy hands-on very much.

The website below has a program on children's developmental stages and e-learning program. In fact my 3 year old niece is using it too and she loves it!

Keep him involved in everything you do, talk to him lots, ask him lots of questions (even if he's not going to answer), point out things to him, show him how to do things. Basically, interact with him a lot.

You didn't really explain how your daughter was on a schedule so I don't understand what it is you think your daughter did that your other child didn't do. Also keep in mind that kids are very different and can have exactly the same set up but one will be less academically inclined than the other.

There is a book called, "Slow and Steady, Get Me Ready" by June Oberlander that has activities you can do with children from birth to 5 years old. I wouldn't worry too much about engaging his or her brain just yet - everything is new at this age, so even a simple trip to the grocery store, library, or post office every week will be educational.

I think at 2, he's still pretty young. He's starting to develop and he'll absorb everything now and so on. Maybe you and your child can join a play group or sometimes locally they'll have some 'mom & tots' classes. There they'll prepare your child for social and educational activities.

It doesn't hurt either to start teaching him a second language. You'll be amazed at how much he'll learn!!!

Are you homeschooling your kids? If so, you can get a scheduling book called : 'Managers of their homes; A practical guide to daily scheduling for christian homeschool families.' by Steven and Teri Maxwell. VERY GOOD BOOK!
