I am looking for some kind of creative way to tell my parents that they are going to be grandparents .. again.. as this will be my second child.
Last time I just told them straight out I want this time to be different.

I think grandparents day is in Sept. Give them a card that says from both grandchildren.

Guess what? Me and hubby did the nasty and now I'm knocked up! Is that too blunt for them? If so, you might try this:
find out when your due date is and ask them if they will babysit your oldest child. When they ask what in the world you're doing planning a babysitter that far ahead, just casually say " Well I want to leave him with someone I can trust while I have the baby" . That should get em going!

Have them over for dinner and serve like "baby carrots, "baby peas" other foods that are related to "baby" in a baby sense.

Have a baby bib under the plate for each parent that says something directly to a grandparent on it.

Have a pic of the baby from ulstrasound for the "to be" grandparents perhaps.

Congrats!! :)

Take your other child over in a "I'm a big brother" Or "Big sister" t-shirt and let them put 2 and 2 together, it is fun! May want to have a little ultrasound pic in a frame to give them to unwrap if they do not get it. Congrats!

My sister-in-law just told my in-laws she is pregnant. She bought two pairs of booties. One pink and one blue. She wrapped up each pair and had her Mom unwrap one and her Dad unwrap the other. At first they wondered why they were getting a present for no reason, but realized what the "big" present was. They loved it and got it right away. It was a cute way to let them know!!

It would be cute if your other child is somehow involved. I don't know how old he/she is. Maybe you can buy two little white shirts, paint or somehow design onto the shirt words that read grandchild number 1 and have your daughter/son hand them a wrapped gift and when they open it, it has a little shirt that says grandchild number 2. I hope I helped (= and good luck!!

ps. CONGRATS!!

If there is some special event coming up....a birthday, anniversary or any reason you'd be giving them a card or gift, I'd sign the card with all of your names and add one name for the new baby...even if u don't know if it's a boy or a girl. It's amusing to see them get a little confused...then the light bulb turns on.

I took my ultrasound picture and put it inside a "grandkids' frame. My husband and I met them for dinner this past Friday night and we handed it to the waiter to bring it out to them. It was a Mexican restaurant, where we know a lot of the servers, and they put the picture frame in a fajita trivet. They brought out my parents their 'special cheese dip' and the 'special chips' are in the trivet/tray. When my parents went to grab some chips- there laid the frame! They flipped out with excitement! I just found out I am expecting and it worked great!

For my first child, I bought a book of quilt patterns for my mother who quilts. I marked the pages with a book marker that said, "Get busy on these first, you are going to be a grandma in October." You could do it with sewing pattern books, decorating books, woodworking books or anything that fits their interests.

She absolutely flipped, and she still tells this story.

This may not be too creative, but when I found out my first son was on the way it was around my grandma's birthday. I signed my husband, stepdaughter and my name to the card and also added ??? TO BE ANNOUNCED IN SOMETIME AROUND JANUARY 22nd. When she opened her card at her birthday party she just got this goofy grin on her face and ran to my grandpa saying LOOK WE ARE GOING TO BE GREATGRANDPARENTS AGAIN. Almost 8 years later she still talks about her "favorite" birthday card!!!
