You don't bring it up! Believe me, she knows.

I straighten my hair about once a week. As a friend it would be nice to bring it up. The heat from the straightener is drying her hair and scalp. There are products that she should be using to protect her hair they contain silicone... also a leave in conditioner should be applied. I personally don't believe she should straighten her hair everyday.

Wow, I got this new conditioner and hair shine product.
I love it , I got you one too... I hope you love it like I do!
It will just make your hair look more beautiful and healthier too.
Great huh?!

None of that was a lie, it was the truth, she is beautiful to you even without her hair at all.

There ya go! Go buy one and give it to her.
Don't say anything else, play dumb and just love her.
Come ON its a girl the fusses with her hair a dozen times a day, She knows it a haystack . She is caught in ego net and can't admit she needs help. So don't help her per say- just gift her.

i would ask her maybe one day while watching her straighten her hair, "Don't you use a heat protector?". Im a hairdresser and she really needs to put moisture back in her hair, like a deep conditioner and she definately needs to use a thermal protector. If you have a sallys beauty supply near you, get TURN UP THE HEAT its a spray and it smells real good. Also if its real dry she needs her ends clipped regularly. Hope this helps. Also try maybe thermasilk shampoo and conditioner

she needs to put on a protective spray before doing it. she need to get her hair trimmed and buy a super moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. also she may need a gloss serum.

just talk to her in a sweet way. let her know her hair needs to be taken care of and that your willing to help. tell her you care about her as a friend and you want her to look nice.

also she should not use a flat iron every day cuz it will keep burning her hair. try just 3 times a week.

What you do is tell her you found this great new repairing conditioner (and have some for her) and you tell her how much you miss her curls/waves (whatever she is straightening).

You might also suggest she go get it trimmed to keep it healthy, then go with her and mention to the hair dresser how often she straightens it and let the professional tell her she's killing her hair.

Shes your friend right? Well friends should be able to communicate effectivley. I always tell my bestfriend if she has something in her teeth and she tell me too. Sometimes people dont see how bad some things look until someone tells them. turn the table around and ask your self "if my hair was like that would I want my friend to tell me or help me with it?" If you tell her in a friendly manner im sure she will appreciate it comming from you who is her friend.

Maybe you could treat her to a hair day at the salon. Maybe you could suggest a hot oil treatment or a deep conditioning. You do it too. I bet the hairstylist will bring it up. Just an idea.

I have a friend with the same problem..... you might want to suggest casually, a deep conditioner..... you know they make some that enhance natural colors and dyed colors, you may want to show her one, and say something like "this would make your color look amazing" then you will be helping to get it conditioned, if that doesn't work....
You may have to be honest and tell her you are concerned, and you don't want to hurt her feelings, but as a friend you felt you should tell her..... I mean you wouldn't let her walk around with something in her teeth would you? same concept.

Ask her if she wants to go out together to a salon. "Girl Getaway".
While you are there make a few suggestions. She may open up. With a good beauticians advice she may be willing to change her hair style.

This is your friend and you should bring it to her attention. If she refuses your help that is on her. But a true friend would let a friend know. Just bring it up. Let her know you can help her with the problem. Good Luck!!!
