I mean, people grow up being tought that there religion is correct. When people grow up believing something, they think what they witness is something that has to do with there belief's.. For example: Someone that grew up believing ghost are real, tend to believe that of they hear a nose it was a ghost, as for someone that wasnt.. When they hear a nose they dont think its a ghost.. So when people are raised to believe that there religion is right, and they hear a nose they may think it was there god, as for someone that hasnt been raised to believe in that hears a nose they dont think its god.. I guess you can look at it as being brain washed in believeing that your religion is correct, and when your brain washed your brain really truly believes that waht ever is going on is real.. Altho if your brain washed in believing that and you end up being wrong about it than you would never know.. I hope that made sence.. If so can I get some of your mature thoughts about this?

What James said above that "the Bible is supported by evidence...others are not" is rediculous. All religions are supported by evidence. The question is whether it is right or wrong evidence.

What Daydreaming said is also wrong. Before studying religious material such as the Bible, Qur'an, etc...read how they evolved FIRST. My conclusion was that they were all chock full of contradictions and I now cannot believe any of them. Maybe you will come up with a different conclusion. Ultimately any religion boils down to having faith, as none of them can have all aspects proven as a whole.

In your confused state, my suggestion to you is to erase everything from your mind and heart and rebuild. Forget everything that you have been taught and begin at step one: Do you believe in a God. If not...then your quest is over. If so, then the next step is to understand this God. Step three would be to see what religion is in accordance with your conclusion. You may even find that no religion follows your idea...and that is just fine!

I cannot tell you what is right or wrong...this is for you to decide...

We don't know. The only belief system we can prove to be true is agnosticism, which is odd, as that just says that we don't know whether there's a God.

It's all about faith. You are right: If you grow up hearing something over and over, you're going to think it's correct. Some people do change religion after adulthood, but most don't. And this is fine, as long as you have, as an adult, looked at alternatives. However, most people don't. A lot of people grow up, and simply believe what they do because they have been told that their entire life, and don't know anything else.

Good point. That is why there are as many religions as there are people.
The best one so far is the "God is All-Knowing."
It makes the most sense. Middle Eastern religions recognize this philosophy, but only as long as they can say it. To put it to practice is to get real confused real quick. They just have a problem mixing in the 'freewill" thing as if they would implode not having it.
So what?! you don't have freewill...did you just lose your life on Earth?
So, try to remember that God is Omniscient, and you will not need anything else.

True religion is simply one person's relationship with God. There is no one organized religion that is "correct". Some contain more truth than others, but as long as the goal is to lead men to God, they are all good. This is what the Urantia Book has to say on the subject.

92:7.3 The many religions of Urantia are all good to the extent that they bring man to God and bring the realization of the Father to man. It is a fallacy for any group of religionists to conceive of their creed as The Truth; such attitudes bespeak more of theological arrogance than of certainty of faith. There is not a Urantia religion that could not profitably study and assimilate the best of the truths contained in every other faith, for all contain truth. Religionists would do better to borrow the best in their neighbors' living spiritual faith rather than to denounce the worst in their lingering superstitions and outworn rituals.

92:7.4 All these religions have arisen as a result of man's variable intellectual response to his identical spiritual leading. They can never hope to attain a uniformity of creeds, dogmas, and rituals -- these are intellectual; but they can, and some day will, realize a unity in true worship of the Father of all, for this is spiritual, and it is forever true, in the spirit all men are equal.

Religion is a tool and nothing more. The Divine is within you, as it is with all of us. All you need to find your path back to the Creator is to seek within, I highly recommend meditation. Just spend 30 minutes a day in silent contemplation.

If you really feel you need a structured religion, find one that teaches Love, Compassion and Acceptance. I believe that any teaching that attempts to control you through fear, or removes you from the Divine by promoting the concept of salvation from an outside source, is taking you away from the truth.

Salvation is found within, the path to God is Love not fear. These are the fundamental teachings of Jesus and the Buddah.

It is not brain washing, your parnets raise you in the way they believe is correct and the only way you will ever know what is correct is when you die. Until then all you can do is go by what you feel in your heart. Treat every one kindly and try and be the best human you can be and right or wrong you will feel good about yourself in the end. God is about treating others with respect and doing what you feel is right in your heart.

Consider this: Christianity is the only religion where God made the first move towards saving people and making promises of eternal life.

Every other religion on this planet is based upon YOU trying to reach God!

The best form of leadership is leadership by example- in this case, God taking the first step to save mankind from sin

The religion that encourages its members to gain their own personal witness of the truth of its teachings (ala James 1:5) has more credibility than the churches that don't.

There is no evidence that god exists. And the bible does not count as evidence because it is a book written by MEN from 2000 years ago. If i wrote a book and said that i'm a Dodo it doesn't mean i am one.
