Call me crazy, but Allah sounds a lot like a simply desert bedoin than a creator of all. Can we send Allah some design consultants, maybe some Disney execs to provide greater entertainment in heaven, cause I love wine and woman as much as the next guy, but I need other stuff too...

heaven is different for every religion.
the christian faith as we know it promises nudity in a forest with animals and pretty flowers.
some religion (I am thinking desert based people) picture heaven as a place where the water continually flows and food is abundant.
Other religions depending on the thing they lack the mostn will promise that to be heaven.
the bottomline is, heaven is this perfect place where all your dreams come true (sorta kinda like the first matrix - before the humans rejected its program).
again, heaven is a place of purity and godliness. Virgins fit the bill.
I bet you have your own version of heaven if you are allowed to choose (unlimitedly).

Because ISLAM figured out what women have seem to have forgotten. Guys are easy. We will do anything as long as some sexual rewards involved. Example...If my girl told me that sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor makes her hot...BAMMM! I got the broom in one hand and the mop in the other. I'm on it. She's happy the kitchen is done. Domesitic Bliss.
As for the blowing yourself up...they must promise a pretty good party in the afterlife. Cause I don't really get that. But go figure.

its just a sample, do u want Allah to drop a list with all things including Disney.. Quran sent before more than 1400 year and he talking them and us in the same manner.. they understand him, and we understand him also after all this technology evolution, another thing its a way for encourage because when u have real believe in Allah u will be missing to meet him and find what will give u, its not just materials things but any person start imagine in his way what he prefer not anyone else, and finally this life with all its content (that u c is wonderful) is just a place for test and give the exam.. just look a moment to the sky.. and tell to yourself where the light come from, its from a fire ball over ur head, where this starts.. its just billions of tons floating in space.. what do u think who create all that can do for u????

I don't know. I think rivers of wine along with 72 virgins at my beck and call with the stamina to handle them all sounds like a lot of fun to me, or at least as some other poster mentioned, the first few thousand years or so.

Study. Look into Bible you will find similar kind of heaven. Heaven in Qur'an is allegory.Allah used is simply so the humans 1400 years can understand what will be heaven look like. Jesus was turning water into wine according to Bible.

The Islamic heaven is a sensual paradise, while the Jewish and Christian heaven is one of spiritual delights--big difference!
