Approximately, how much per square foot does it cost to restore hardwood floor?

We have apprx. 1000 sq feet of hardwood in our home (built 1941) that has never been refinished. It's covered in carpet. We've been quoted $2.50 per square foot. I know we have some very knowledgable remodelers out there and any input would be great!

$2.50 sounds a little high,if they are good. but i would check their references $1.75 is what the average is where i live

i charge 6.00 a foot to install and finish 3.00 a foot for pre finished

thats a good price to remove the carpet and nails and finish. take it.
