I am 26 - I was a child about 7-9 yrs. old I flipped over railing while riding a scooter (no helmet), head banged on railing and I fell. suffered migraine headaches as an adult, finally got an MRI done to find there was tiny cyst (smaller than a dime) on my brain, located on a vein that the neurologist said was cause headaches. here are my symptoms that occur at least one of these everyday:

- migraine headaches
- hearing voices or noises that no one else hears
- talking to myself
-catatonic (staring, rocking) for minutes at a time
- dark spots in vision or flashes of bright light

someone is talking to me hearing "blanks out" for a few seconds, know they were talking but can't remember what was said to during the "blank spots"

at night when I'm sleeping my toes "twitch" back and forth as do my fingers, I can feel it, can't control it

night while I'm trying to sleep, my back goes ridgid on my bed and can't move until the feeling passes, fingers do the same

- I also suffered a concussion after falling off my scooter.

- I have high blood pressure and borderline diabetic.

- I was diagnosed with "math dyslexia" as a child as well; so another "brain issue" I suppose.

If someone that has medical expertise in brain injury area wouldn't mind conversing with me, possibly through email please feel free. I am too ashamed to go to my doctor right now and explain all these "strange" symptoms.

I am in no way a hypocondriac. I don't know if the cyst has a thing to do with the symptoms I'm experiencing. I'm a college student with various medical issues. if don't have experience as to what could be wrong, how bout you don't suggest anything.

sorry to keep adding on, thank you those that are giving me some idea as to what could be wrong. I thought maybe I have temporal lobe epilepsy because I look it up on the internet....I am ashamed to go to doctor because I think the symptoms are very weird and not for a normal person. I don't want them to think I'm crazy because I go to college and have a regular job; I have never mentioned any of this to her except the migraines, diabetes and blood pressure (which I take meds for). Maybe I will go see a doctor I don't know, but they are bound to contact my primary care doctor. thanks again.

The catatonic staring can be a type of epileptic seizure. Not all seizures are shaking and writhing on the floor, some are just sitting still and staring out into space. You'll want to talk that over with your neurologist.

The twitching in your toes could also be what's called "Restless Leg Syndrome"

When we are in a deep sleep at night our body will "lock" so we cannot move and hurt ourselves during a dream. This might be something simular to what you're having when your back goes ridgid. Again, ask your dr.

Don't be ashamed to go to the dr. You could very well be experiencing something major going on and won't know unless you talk to them.

The math learning disability you talked about is called "Dyscalculia" It's something I deal with everyday. Annoying, but there are ways to work around it. I was diagnosed with it years ago.

You shouldn't be ashamed to see a Dr. After all, you have a perfectly good explanation as to why you are experiencing these symptoms. And I'd almost guarantee that if you went to a specialist (even a general practitioner) the first things they would ask you is if you ever had a head injury (which you did!)

Every time you whack you head good and hard, it makes 'scar tissue' in the brain. My sister in law came down with HORRIBLE headaches that eventually hospitalized her. Come to find out she had calcium deposits on her brain (those are the 'scar tissue') and they were part of what was causing her problems.

I hope you can get it checked out and get some relief. :)

I am not a dr. so I will just say that...assuming that the tumor was never taken care of ...it could cause all of these symptoms. However if you have not had a CT scan I would suggest doing so.

Because a Brain injury actually requires medical examination beyond disscusion, I would hope no one on here would talk about this over email...other than to encourage you to go for medical tests. There are great supports out there to assist you through this and though it may be tough to talk about, you deserve to right information! Good luck to you

Oh, honey..please don't be ashamed to see a doctor about this! They are not going to laugh or castigate you for not seeing a doc sooner. Are your symptoms worsening over time? You do not want to be at risk of eventually losing your vision or hearing..don't risk it..at least call a free health line and ask..(look in your local phone book..or contact the nearest County Health Services)..
You may have suffered neurological damage with the fall..they may even recommend some physical therapy to assist your recovery..even after all this time! Good luck..

I really think you need to see a neurologist. Sounds like your injury may have caused serious damage. The symptoms you have that resemble mental illness (audible hallucinations, etc) could have been caused by the injury or a result of some emotional impact of your life, but I would have been concerned at the vision problems and the cyst. Was it removed and biopsied? If it is scar tissue, there might not be much you can do. If it is cancer, then chemo and radiation therapy will be needed. Being only 26, you have a good chance of a long and healthy life if you have a treatable problem and deal with it early enough.

Well doesn't sound like hypocondria lol
I have temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) and experience similar things but my TLE runs in my family
I started "seeing things" as long as I can remember this included lights, shadows, real objects, abstract objects, people etc I also would hear voices and music sometimes so clearly that I swore someone was in the room with me whispering in my ear. My toes also twitch especially my big toe just before I go to sleep and well my list of stuff can go on forever.
The fact is I never told a doctor about this stuff because I thought I was skitso and was so scared of being this. Because I never told anyone the TLE just got worse and worse and so did the depression that is also associated with it. So my advice is go tell a doctor straight away and don't suffer its symptons anylonger! It's not worth the stress and once you know for sure, the weight just lifts off your shoulders! Good Luck

You should never feel ashamed to talk with your doctor. You would not want put your own life at risk by being so secretive. It is very important that you share this information with your doctor. Your primary care provider may refer you to a neurologist. Looking for help online from people who have no authority in medical knowledge and experience is not a wise decision. No doctors work here at Yahoo!Answers. People visit this web site mostly for fun and entertainment.

I work with people with brain injuries, and a lot of what your saying doesnt sound like a brain injury necessarily, that can include memory problems, functional problems, etc. It sounds like you may have problems of chemical imbalances. sounds like you may have some positive symptoms of schizophrenia or schiziphreniform. You should definitely go to the doctor, make sure the syst isnt cancerous, mabye have it removed, and definitely talk to a psychiatrist, who can medicate you for hearing voices and stuff like that if need be.

I can't tell if you are joking or not, with this question.

Print out this list of symptoms and hand it to the doctor.

Some of what you are describing sounds like mental illnesses like schizophrenia. Others do sound more like head injury issues.

Get yourself to the doctor.
