How do I get a guy to like me that thinks he is still in love with his ex-girlfriend?

I am in love with this guy. He got out of this relationship about 2 months ago. I can understand that he is still deeply hurt because they were engaged and she cheated on him, but he keeps saying he is going to get her back. Even though she doesnt want him back, I want him to be happy and not get hurt again this girl is a real pain in the @$$. He is now going into the army (which he could be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan) just to show her that he could have given them a good life. I think thats crazy, I want to show him how much I care and that maybe this girl was second best and that there just might be the best out there waiting for him, he says if he cant get her back that he wont date ever again. How do I get him? Thanks for the help in advance!

but relax a little and be there for him
i have to be honest with u
i was in his shoe before ( i didnt get cheated on) but i wanted my x back and to be honest when i was in athat stage of trying to get her back i wasnt tryin to date or drive my attention away from my x
girls tried but i wouldnt move for it

i suggest just be there for him
show him u r a good candidate and IF he opens his eyes and see what u r worth then he will come to u

but dont devote too much energy he is stuck on his x
he needs to snap out of it
it will take time
but right now u cant penetrate that wall

he need time to get pass this relationship. all you can do now is be his friend and maybe in time he will see you in a different light.
If you don't have time to wait than you must move on.

sorry u are sol---this guy is still hung up on his previous g/f whether u like it or not....u need to move on...maybe in a year he will be ready to date again...and maybe not...either way---sorry he is not interested in u at all
