Well, some people call them toasted cheese sandwiches, and they usually make them in a toaster oven. But, you can make grilled cheese on a grill, it is just messy!

originally it was made on a grill or a grittle until modern time took over and we made them on stove tops in a pan but we still are grilling then we are not frying them just because its called a frying pan does not mean we are frying them

You dont fry grill cheese. Frying takes cups oil. You just add a dab of butter or a few drops or oil .
