my son just recently took a tumble off the couch and hit his head on the edge of the coffee table......at 14 months also.
we took him immediately to the ER where they took a cat scan. they also, found no problems, thank goodness.
but, they did tell us to keep a close eye on him for the next few days.
i know they said to watch for excessive drowsiness, looking like he is out of it also.
i don't recall if they said anything about throwing up, but, i know if i were in you shoes, i would double check that there is nothing wrong.
if the doctor does not want to investigate this further, then maybe you should take him to a different emergency room, since the last one would not do a cat scan.
i know they can do a cat scan at that age since they did one on my 14 month old.

No fever, no other symptoms, and he started the vomiting after the fall? I think it sounds like something is very wrong. I would take him back to the ER and tell them you want more tests. Then if he is not ok, I would sue the crap out of your doctor and the ER. Good luck!

Nausea is definitely a symptom... along with extreme drowsiness.
Disorientation and the inability to stand for very long are also signs, but with a 14 month old it would be hard to say.
Best advice is to watch him for a few more hours and if the nausea continues or the other symptoms become evident, get him to the Emergency Room.

you need to find another Dr. ASAP. take him to a neurologist if possible, or go to another ER. Always get another opinion.....if you feel something is wrong, you are probably right....just because they have an M.D. doesn't necessarily mean they know everything....find another DR. fast.
do you know what they call a med student with a C average?......
--Doctor.
always trust your instinct......insist on an MRI my son had one at 6 months....so don't worry about the age thing, that is why we have this technology, make them use it.

Get off the internet NOW. get that baby to the ER (go to a differant hospital it ness) Aside of a head injury the baby is becomeing dehydrater. Also the baby could vomit while sleeping and go into respitory arrest. Please don't wait any longer.

Take your baby to a different doctor, a pediatrician would be the best. If the hospital is not cooperating, take him to another hospital. He definitely needs medical attention right away.
