Can they read this? I want to say to them how they amaze me. They are taking on the most powerful nation on earth and they are only a rag tag group of men but they are putting the hurt on the USA day in and day out. In short.....They are beating the USA. They are winning just like the North Vietnam soldiers did years ago in Vietnam. Once again we are going down in defeat. We will lose and then cut and run. Defeat is coming in the next two or three years.

First the Viet Cong never beat the U.S. military. South Vietnam collapsed a year after the U.S. military pulled out under a false sense the South Vietnamese would defend themselves. That's why Bush doesn't want a cut and run strategy.

The hurt on the U.S. soldiers? It's actually statistically safer to be in Iraq than the U.S. To equal the standard U.S. death rate per 100,000 people, 5120 soldiers would have to have died. Not even 2/3 of that was achieved. To make matters worse for the insurgent kill ability, 1/3 of the U.S. deaths were the result of accidents such as failing aircraft and auto accidents.

Also the insurgency is only operating in about 3 cities in a country the size of California. They are losing ground everyday. They aren't even able to sucessfully raid police stations anymore.

Of course you can talk to the insurgents. Take yourself to any international airport and book a flight to Baghdad, or even Kuwait. Then just simply make your way to a small Iraqi village, lets say Ishaki (that is where I got blown up six months ago). All you have to do then is walk into the market, and I am sure that within a few minutes they will have found you.

Unfortunately, I am not sure that they will be too accepting of all your praise. They would much rather lop your head off on public television. But do me a favor and give us all a heads up before you go, I dont want to miss it. Nothing better than getting rid of all of the American Non-Believers.

It's easier to defend than to attack. This is a simple principle found over and over in from anything from martial arts to chess to football, and of course, to war. The USA benefitted from this in the revlolutionary war, and since that time the attacker has almost always failed in the long run, especially if the goal is to 'take over' or remove the government.

Israel is also finding this out. How silly humans are.

we were not physically losing in vietnam, nor are we losing in Iraq. We are only emotionally losing because there is a small group of loudmouth liberals who undermine what we are doing (which is why we lost in vietnam according to the n.vietnemese general). They care only about their political gains, rather than what is best for the country.

6 years ago that would have been a great question. But now, by asking to communicate with terrorists, it could get you labelled as a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer. As for your point, don't worry, the current admin. has their eyes closed and keeps saying "yes, we can win, yes we can, yes we can". hopefully, a GOOD president, can find a way out of this mess that GWB has us in and save face in the process.

Why don't you go over to Iraq and talk to them? Don't lose your head, though.

Listen to bgray0630. Be sure to tell them that you are an American. That would probably be a lie though.
