Do not dreams allow us to Make our reality. Has anyone ever been inspired to make something real by a myth, some magic, or a dream? Have you ever heard of working to make your dreams come true? Have you ever been so tantalized by some myth, magic, or dream that you did some more research or investigation and actually learned something valuable?
Without dreams, how shall we go about dreaming of the future? Without Myth, how shall we go about telling stories to our children? Without Magic, how shall we go about appreciating what is real?

Despite what some say, a Myth is not necessarily an imaginary story. From a sociological viewpoint, a myth may either be fictional or historical - the power of the myth is its ability to convey truth.
In some ways, then, myths are at the core of our being. Americans are tied to the myths of the Revolution: George Washington & Paul Revere; of the Civil War: Abraham Lincolm & Robert E. Lee; of the Civil Rights Movement: MLK & JFK.
Texans are tied to the myth of the Alamo, of Davy Crockett and Stephen F. Austin.
Myths tell us where we have been & define the broad truths of our purpose, but dreams & visions point us in a direction - into the future. The book of Daniel in the Hebrew Scripture and the Revelation of John in the New Testament are biblical examples of dreams and visions.
For those alive in the sixties, there is probably not greater expression of a dream than the one articulated on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 28, 1963, by Martin Luther King, Jr.

I think that reality is very subjective. I wouldn't say its more important than real life, but I believe that it can help us cope, learn and grow in life. :)
For example, the Bible is a myth (meaning there isn't a whole lot of proof that all of that happened- and how could there be, it happened MANY years ago- like all other cultural myth), yet think about how the Bible has impacted so many people's lives. It impacts the way people live, the way people treat others, and gives many people an ethical guide on how to live their lives. The Bible, while a myth is also very real to most Christians.
In my religion, many of us can connect with deity through dreams, meditations, etc. and its just as real to us as the Bible is to many Christians.
So, I think 'reality' is subjective. :)

I don't know about the Myth and Magic, but dreams are definitely important in coping with our daily lives. We all have our little dream worlds we escape to once in awhile. The trick is to be able to know the difference between fact and fantasy.

Are myth, magic and dreams more important? I would say no, but they are essential if we are to continue to press the boundaries of our existence. It is from such things that many discoveries have formed; ideas and fantasies carried far enough to yield actual practical solutions. Let's face it. It wasn't long ago that man's ability to fly was considered myth, magic and dream.

No, I think they are equal. We have to continue to be creative and use our imaginations to be able to deal with everyday life. if you don't dream, what's it all for?
