Nope.....the story wouldn't have been so good....whatever Pope actually wrote it down in the last 2,000 or so years.

No. Justice would not be fulfilled. Does the act of molesting a child deserve punishment. Of course it does. To not do so, would be unjust. Likewise, every wrong act deserves punishment.
If God is a perfectly just being, He could not simply let all the evil slide. That evil required punishment. That is where God's Son came in.
God allowed our punishment to be born by his son. By doing so, he also displayed how he values us. Even though it caused his own son great mistreatment and agony, he cares for us enough to allow this to happen. In his son's death, he was not attempting to be a cosmic big brother. He was showing humanity by his actions that we are the object of His affection.
Christianity is the only religion in the world where God reaches out to man, in a hope that man will choose God. All other religions hold basically that if a man can be good enough, he will earn God's reward/attention.

A good point. You see people will now reply to you and say Hey, he gave loads of warnings - Noah's Ark etc. - But there in lies the problem, everything about religion is an interpretation and assumption. But nothing would have been more useful than actually saying: "HEY! You, Hello there I'm God. I"m here and I'm watching, so be good." Now that would have worked!

It would have been nice, but no. He tried that several times (see all the times in Genesis and Exodus were he smacks the Jewish people upside the head and and tells them to knock it off, only to watch them fall into sin again and again).
Under the Law, sin is punishable by death. Since Mankind is no longer capable of avoiding sin, there needs to be a substitutions sacrifice to pay that penalty. Under the Law, it was the tradition of sacrifice laid out in Leviticus et al. These pointed to the final sacrifice to end all sacrifices, Jesus.
Since Jesus was perfectly and infinitely righteous (being God), he was able to satisfy the penalty for an infinite amount of sin. In other words, all sin by all people for all time.

All those kinds of ideas were developed by fundamentalist simpltons.
The Goddess/God is everywhere and within us all. That means we all have that power and love within. It is all about wholistic thinking...when you can really think that way, you don't need any sacrificing or watching. You love and take care of others as you would yourself...simple idea but why is it so many can't get it?

This question is so in-depth it can't be answered that simply. The simplest answer I could give would be that it's about reconciling God's nature unto himself. If God is God, and has to be perfection in every way, then that means perfect in love and forgiveness, but also perfect in judgement and punishment. How would He reconcile those two natures to himself without giving either one more than the other.

You obviously have no clue as to why God sacrificed his only son.

I don't know why things happened the way that they did. I have just come to the conclusion that God doesn't spend too much time wanting to be Jodie and I am happy letting him be God.

Man did not listen, so he sent his son to walk among men and show them the way.
