Do you know the quran has nothing about the 72 virgins?

I downloaded the quran from

And did a search & find & found nothing about the 72 virgins.

Muslims are motivated to terrorism because the Koran, the Bible of Islam, tells them that fighting non-believers is a duty of every Muslim and the only way to be certain of going to heaven is to die fighting in the cause of allah.

If they can make it to heaven, one of the rewards all Muslims are promised is 72 virgins. The number of virgins is not specified in Koran, it comes from a quotation of Muhammad recorded in one of the lesser known Hadith. ("Hadith" is an Arabic word meaning traditions. After Muhammad's death, several collections of his deeds and sayings were assembled. These collections are called Hadith and form the second most authoritative document is Islam, right after the Koran.)

According to this page, the specific Hadith in which the number of virgins is specified is Hadith Al-Tirmidhi in the Book of Sunah (volume IV, chapters on The Features of Paradise as described by the Messenger of Allah, chapter 21, About the Smallest Reward for the People of Paradise. The same hadith is also quoted by Ibn Kathir in his Koranic commentary (Tafsir) of Surah Al-Rahman:

"The Prophet Muhammad was heard saying: 'The smallest reward for the people of paradise is an abode where there are 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine, and ruby, as wide as the distance from Al-Jabiyah [a Damascus suburb] to Sana'a [Yemen]."

So it isn't the case that only martyrs get the virgins, but the only way to get the virgins is to get to heaven, and Koran is quite specific that the only way to be certain of getting to heaven is to die in Jihad.

It doesn't give the number "72". It's from the extra-Quranic sources--that is the Tradition. And anyways--I don't think if there are 72 or 72,000 virgins in the heaven--that is nothing to be criticized.
There are other things in Moshlim religion that we should attack.

To the person entitled 'me' santa clause has no position in christianity and he was actually a barbarian who killed and raped innocent men woman and children. Also there is no such thing as an easter bunny that goes around giving chocolate eggs only bunnies throwing uranium tipped missiles at innocent civillians who complain of thier selfish foreign policies! Islam is up front and i along with my family and so many others want to eventually recieve such beautiful gifts with a giant palace with colours and beauty never seen before and only happiness (something too awful for the likes of you, who probably enjoys getting drunk and sleeping with strangers and not giving a damn about the state the world is in). Your religion is so twisted and corrupt its impossible to salvage it, which is why if someone wants to be a monotheist they must be a muslim!

It's funny cause Ive heard the number be so many different ones...30, 25, 70. I couldn't imagine spending eternity trying to show a bunch of virgins how to have great sex. I'd take one or two 'women that have been around" any day! If I'm gonna be in heaven I'd rather learn a thing or two from the ladies I'd be spending eternity with.

It was dreamed up... just like most of the things alot of terrorist believe. Altho the 72 virgins bit is more of a deal spreading around the US than anything else.
