i have seven American pit bull terriers so according to some people i am selling drugs or have something to hide would you like to come to my house you can pet any of my dogs and keep your arms and legs well all but one but i had some neighbors who thought all pit bulls were bad so they started shooting them with b-b guns and shooting bottle rockets at them and then when i call the police like I'm supposed to do they say there's nothing they can do why? i guess because as everyone thinks I'm dealing or hiding something you see profiling goes on just because of what kind of dog i choose to have i guess drug dealers dont have poodles or pugs nope just pit bulls and because someone has a bad experiance with one means you hate them all well what if it was a doberman remember when drug dealers had them or collies just because i have a certian breed makes me and my wife bad people. well anyway at least i have a dog thats called an american pit bull oh and something else my preacher also had a pit bull growing up and i guess he turned out allright.
sorry so long winded but people make me mad by putting everyone in one group. you know theres also bad cops out there does that make them all bad. a dog is what you make and all dogs bite why do you think they have teeth for and contrary to what people think all of them will bite the smaller ones more so than the larger. well anyway i also have two cats,two snakes a horse and the seven pitbull terriers and two mixed breeds.rescued three of the pits and the two mixed breeds from the pound because they dont let pitbulls last very long in there. but i do have one question is it right to exterminate one breed of dog because of a few bad ones cause if thats the case we need to start gassing everthing heck lets just start throwing bombs everywhere theres a bad person because if ones bad they all are

FYI ... I understand that all pit bulls arent the same ...but I also agree that pit bulls are the most dangerous dog you can own ... over the weekend my 9 year old daughter was bitten in the face and ended up with 27 stitches in her face by a pit bull that she has known all of its life and was raised around her ... and the dog was not raised to bit anyone ...
he just snapped at her all of a sudden and for no reason .... explain that one ....
a couple of months ago the same thing happened to my neice y a completely different dog ... pit bull.... but the same situation ... pits are too dangerous and should not be allowed around children

Pit Bulls are not mean. I have been around several, and they were as gentle as could be.
Every dog could be vicious, if the situation presents itself, if they are abused, or if they have been trained to be like that.
I totally agree with you, Pit Bulls do get a bad rap. It should be the people who make them mean that get the rap, or euthanized.

Dogs are not born mean. It is the asshole owners that make them mean. I don't know if you are some punk kid who thinks its cool to fight dogs, but it is just wrong on so many different levels I don't even know where to begin. If you are fighting pits, I hope you get caught. Just remember what goes around comes around, and you will get yours sooner or later.

Pits make great family pets, it is the people that mistreat them. Sad but true.

I totally agree. no bad dogs, only bad owners. this breed gets a bad rap. i have one and she is the sweetest thing. i have posted about this subject before, and i swear that most people, excluding the open minded people who agree with me. that they think all pit bulls are vicious and will attack anyone. i am sorry for all the unlucky dogs of this breed who basically earn a death sentence because we as humans have failed to understand and treat these animals with understanding and compassion. for those who are compassionate and are understanding, i truly commend you all.

All I know is that my parents had a pit bull for 14 yrs. and she was an absolute doll - no problems with her at all.

Pit bulls signal these things to cops:
1. I'm a punk
2. I have something to hide
3. I'm a crack dealer
If you think I'm bad-mouthing you...too bad...my brothers are police officers and can attest to it, as a paramedic I can attest to it, and the people around here who have them all fit into one of these 3 categories. I'm sure there are good people who have them, but like bigfoot, you gotta wonder if they really exist.
