Because businesses have pressured government to let them in, and money talks....but, there's 2 bills in front of Congress right now, one is the 'get out' bill the other one is 'amnesty'...

There are serious problems in dealing more harshly with illegal immigrants. Firstly, if they are not able to get around (by car, for example) they're more likely to be unemployable and thus at a greater risk of going into some sort of criminal activity to make a living. They may sell drugs, or they may steal. This outcome would make a simple "illegal" immigration problem a serious criminal justice issue. Secondly, there are millions of illegals now working in the United States is very difficult jobs. Some work as domestics, some in factories; some work on farms, and many work in landscaping and maintenance. The American economy depends on this cheap labor now. It has become a part (an aspect) of the modern United States economy. Since it had its economic rationale, it was overlooked for decades. Now, in the era of international terrorism, the matter of illegal immigration, as could have been predicted back in September 2001, has become a contentious political issue.
Try to understand the spirit of a person who was born into Mexican poverty eighteen years ago. If he or she reaches adulthood and has no opportunity to help support his family because the local economy has no jobs, and he knows that the U.S. is rich, what is he likely to do? What would you do? Far over 99 percent of these illegals are trying to work at legitimate jobs and make an honest living. They come north "illegally" because there is no opportunity for them to emigrate legally. The fact of their being no opportunity to emigrate legally does not give them a job in Mexico, or hope for their families. What would you do?

Immigrants contribute 7 billion in social security per year. they earn 240 billion, report 90 billion, and only are reimbursed 5 billion, "where are the 85 billion?"
They also contribute to the U.S. economy 25 billion more than they receive in healthcare, etc., etc., etc. According to the anti-immigrant politicians and hatemongers, "immigrants are a drain on society." :)
Why are you concerned..and why do you care? Are you jealous or something?
If you think being undocumented [illgeal] is something to brat or be happy about, why won't you see how an undocumented person lives and suffers working day and night for everyone else. And I don't know what you are talking about high wages, but you are wrong girl.
Did you know that most of the undocumented people in the U.S. have minimum or below minimum wage pay? Make some more research girl and then come back and make a better and not racist question.
Analyze the issue and compare both sides not just your side and what you think :)

Because the plain truth is businesses CONTINUE TO HIRE illegal aliens! There is a huge lobby that has pushed fearless leader into his "Guest Worker Program" (amnesty) a finely crafted and canned phrase that bush's propagandists have come up with to get us to look away from the REAL PROBLEM, employers that HIRE THE ILLEGALS! There are laws on the books that cover employers that hire illegals but they are not enforced. I really think that if employers are held accountable and do not hire illegals they will not come. This in a nutshell is the solution, it is simple economics...No jobs= no money...No money=no reason to come to the USA.

President Bush Proposes New Temporary Worker Program - New immigration laws should serve the economic needs of our country. If an American employer is offering a job that American citizens are not willing to take, we ought to welcome into our country a person who will fill that job.
- we should not give unfair rewards to illegal immigrants in the citizenship process or disadvantage those who came here lawfully, or hope to do so.
- new laws should provide incentives for temporary, foreign workers to return permanently to their home countries after their period of work in the United States has expired.
I propose a new temporary worker program that will match willing foreign workers with willing American employers, when no Americans can be found to fill the jobs. This program will offer legal status, as temporary workers, to the millions of undocumented men and women now employed in the United States, and to those in foreign countries who seek to participate in the program and have been offered employment here. This new system should be clear and efficient, so employers are able to find workers quickly and simply.

Because America has become too politically correct. We would be so much better off without them. Don't let the pro-illegals fool you into thinking that no one would do those jobs. Americans would and will do it for just pay. Send the freeloading dirtbags BACK!!

America doesn't do anything about illegals is because you americans wouldn't really be anything without illegals. Mexicans, Asians, Africans, Central Americans, they all do YOUR dirty work. They clean your homes, your streets, pump your gas, work in the fields so YOUR stores can have food in them and then YOU can go buy food. Without immigrants you'd starve, they are the suppliers of all, Because most of the American population won't work in a dirty job with little pay enviorment.
Plus think about it we were all immigrants at one point or another. So give immigrants a slack. YOU Americans would be nothing without them!
