Tobassco

Either get yourself cactus for your house plants, or get some plants for your cats to eat particularly for them only.
You can get Cat Grass (wheat/barley grass) at the pet store. At least once a week or every two weeks or just grow your own.
Cats love the stuff coz it calms them, helps them digest their food, and also it crunches nicely in their teeth (it won't fight back).

Until you get them some to munch on, where as they will take a nibble at their own leisure and wont get scolded, they may get the clue and learn that it is okay to eat this plant.

Otherwise, you could take a bottle of Tobassco (any hots sauce will do) drip a little on a soft bristle paint brush (1/2" up to 1" wide) and brush the stuff onto your house plants, specifically on the underside of large leaves (so it wont get washed off - some people water their plants with a bottle mister) and on the stems too. If you have a larger or very leafy plant like a fern, asparagus fern something with to many little leaves to brush, You can dillute a one part hot sauce to one part water or vinegar solution/blend and put it in a spary bottle, just spray it on the parts of the plant that is vulnerable to the cats (where they like to nibble it).
It will not hurt the plant - and best of all - Cats Hate Spicy. They really don't like hot sauce.

But please get them some cat grass to nibble on.

You can get Wheat Grass in pots from some health food stores, some supermarkets in the fresh vegetable department. or in most (better) pet stores.
I'm sure your Vet would recommend getting your cat this stuff.
Mine does.

Any way - good luck and hope it works for you.
take care
mahalo!!!

There is a special spray that you can buy in most department stores and pet stores. Spraying it on your plants will not hurt the plants, but will discourage your kitties from eating the plants. I had all kinds of trouble with my cats chewing on my roses until I got this spray. Once squirt and the cats won't go near it.

My vet gave me a great suggestion years ago. Put a few drops of hot sauce in a small spray bottle with water (about a cup) and spray it on your plants. It's not enough to burn the cat's mouths, but it's enough to make it unpleasant tasting. It also doesn't harm your plants. I have used this method for over 30 years and it works everytime!!!

Yes! in a blender put red pepper flakes in with warm water. Blend until the water gets a bit of color in it.
Strain the colored water into a squirt bottle and spray your plants with it.
It won't hurt your plants, but it won't taste good to your cats anymore.
Hey, also, grow them some cat grass just for them. You can get it at any pet store.

Good luck

Most cats hate citrus smells. I squeeze the juice from an orange on my plants and put bits of the peel on the soil. My cats hate the smell and stay away from my plants. Its safe for them and the plants.

You have to check why they want to eat the plants. Maybe they want to get rid of hairballs and need to eat something to ignite the throw-up.

To protect the plants I suggest you put some coffe in the earth. This helped for me to keep them out of the pots.

mix up a solution of water and cayenne pepper and mist it onto the leaf tips with a spray bottle. It'll hurt, but it won't injure the cat. But they WILL remember! You may need to continue the treatment for several weeks until they learn real good.....sort of a "review". LOL

Well you can try going to http://google.com and typing in: Cat is eating my plants... Or something like that. Then they should have an article that says: Yes my cat was eating my plants. But I found this spray _______ and now they don't even want to touch it!! Haha!! Or something like that. Or you can try the hard way by training them. And saying no loud and hit them (not too hard so it is painful) on the rump. Just hard enough for them to get the point. But not too hard. And say no loud so then when they do something wrong you don't have to hit them. All you have to do is say no.

**Hope this helps**

If left to themselves outside a cat will eat grass to aid digestio. Your cats may be craving something similar. Go to petsmart and purchase a pot of grass they sell for this purpose. I suppose you could grow your own if you know it has no fertilizer etc. on it.
