It seems as though they do.

Yes they do yet its hard to say if they feel it in the same way as humans do. Animals displaying human emotions is called Anthropomorphism and there is massive amounts of research which indicates that animals and humans are not that different.

Of course animals can get jealous. I have 2 cats. I had one for about 6 years and then adopted a kitten that had been abused and abandoned. The older cat was jealous, at first, but in time learned to love the little one. However, the little one has become the "princess of the house" and will not tolerate the older cat around us if she wants to be there.

They still tussle once in awhile, but for the most part, enjoy each other's company.

Yes animals do get jealous. If you have like two dogs you have to treat them equal and not just favor the other dog, because reason why is they both need the same amount of loving and attention and when you do they won't get as jealous, but sometimes one dog will get jealous of the other.

absolutely. My cats and dog get very jealous, and I swear that they pout. We don't give them enough credit, because they think and feel similarly the way humans do, just a bit differently. Animals are smarter than we would like to think. Its not just a territory thing, its an emotional thing.

I don't know about the hateful part, but I know they get jealous!!

Try living with six dogs in the house and see if you don't think they get jealous of each other!!!

I think they do. Example:

I boarded my horse & she had a bit of attitude that we were slowly working through. During time spent in the arena, I often praised another animal named Charlie. One summer night when she (Cindy) was in the pasture, she broke through 2 fences, the locked barn door & into the arena. Then she ran up to Charlie & kicked him right in the.....hind-quarters before she galloped out again.

Let's just say that the phone call & bills I received for that were smoking my wallet even while I couldn't stop laughing. My mare *knew* exactly what I was saying & she knew who I was saying it about....and she didn't like in one little bit.

My boy cat acts very jealous of the other cats. If one is laying on my chest, we will always come and lay around my neck. He somehow or another has to be between me and the other cat.

They sure do! My older cat was so jealous of the new one that she bit me, hissed at him and overall had a really nasty personality for months. She had always been very sweet and loving before we got him.

Yeah. They kill, and even eat eachother. Isn't that weird? Sometimes it seems like my cats have emotions all of their own too. I can tell when they're happy, sleepy, sad, or just plain old crazy. Their moods just reflect... so yes, all animals have emotions (and I believe they have souls as well).
