No actually I am no longer liberal, but I became conservative many years ago, but was still an atheist until a very smart engineer flipped my thinking upside down. But even then I really didn't think I would ever become religious until I met my wife. Thats when the world of Christian society was opened up to me for the first time. It was then that I realized that Christians are (in general) smarter, harder working, and much more sociable than their atheist counterpart. Their schools are much better, their kids are raised better, they are much more likely to succeed in life. I don't think this is an accident.

God bless you for your decision to follow Christ. I don't know who you are but Christ does so I will lift you up to him tonite in prayer. May I suggest some reading by a fellow ex-atheist turned Christian that you might find helpful? The book is "Mere Christianity" by C.S.Lewis. Also any book by Max Lucado is a wonderful addition to any Christians library. One of the things I would suggest also is that until you have had time to spend studying the Bible and spent time in positive Christian fellowship, this site is probably not the place to spend much time. At least not in this section, until you can defend what you believe in.
Congratulations on your life changing decision and God Bless.

Remember too, that you are opening yourself up for the answers you are getting, so just don't get discouraged and remember how you used to feel when you weren't saved. Just think to yourself "Forgive them Father, they know not what they say, think, do"

Why don't the ornate and rich catholic churches in Mexico give food and clothing to the homeless and single women ( many with babies ) waiting outside the church walls? And why do they lock their gates if they are houses of god and places for sanctuary? ANd why do they encourage the women to have more children when most can't adequate feed, clothe and educated the children they already have? And why are so many priests gay, molesting little boys, and the catholic church pretty much does nothing about it . . so are you a proud catholic and really want the rest of us to sign on to another political group that takes our money with no return on the investment, either personally or as a society?

Obviously you don't know much about religion. There are some "atheists" out there like that. Most of us did the research first, however...

Edit - Oh, yes... the old "finding god for a chick" thing... Yeah, I've seen that happen plenty of times. You'll get over it. I'm glad you mentioned that, though. At first, I thought you were actually serious.

Saved from what? Being a glorious, wonderful human that loves life and does not need to "gilt the lily" with a crazy trumped up religion. Never!

Why don't you just concentrate on being a Liberal Catholic and leave the rest of us alone?

As a liberal Christian, I am quite offended my brother.
He that worketh with iniquitors and busybodies hath surely fallen from the love and mercy of the lord Jesus Christ.

Return to the flock brother! Jesus love you :)

I am a moderate agnostic .... unlike you I have never been given to slack jawed extremist mindlessness. So, probably never. You have just traded one "religion" for another.
