I have lived in many states & Texas is the best! The people are wonderful. Plus when I am about to give a presentation (I do a lot of public speaking) I always use my "Texas accent" it is amazing how friendly people get when you throw a "y'all" into a conversation.
What people are responding to is news stories like Waco & the death penalty, for many people all they know about TX is what they hear in the news.

I lived in Texas for several years and the one of the many things I liked about it was being able to shoot anyone on your land. In general, Texans still have the "Republic of Texas" attitude and resent being a part of the Union. They still would like to be an independent country, free from the influence of DC.
I do not consider Texans crazy, I consider them free spirits

I love Texas and Texans! I moved here from California about 6mos. ago and I have been enjoying myself and my neighbors. However, Texans driving habits is bad and you are not forgiving towards newcomers trying to figure out getting on the freeway vs the service road. PS LOL

We aren't crazy and I never heard that people thought that we are. I know, maybe because George Bush is a crazy fool. Hey America! I didn't vote for him. In fact, I never voted for anyone named Bush for anything. And I always vote.
