I've tried it and yes it does. It speeds up your metabolic rate and also detoxes your body. You may feel headachey for a few days from coming off coffee, but believe me, it is very effective.

I tried 100% Hoodia and......
Hoodia has worked for me...and with no side effects.
Check with your doctor before starting any weight loss program.

For all you doubters, here is the prior feedback for another Answers user who followed my advice:

**** VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO GET RIPPED OFF ---

#1. Be sure you are buying pure Hoodia...look for the import certificate on the website. No matter the price, if they do not display this, you really do NOT know what you are getting!

#2. Be sure it is 100% Hoodia & not mixed w/other herbs, etc.!!

#3. Keep in mind it stops your hunger pangs…you MUST remember to break your habit to always eat at certain times.

#4. Drink a full 8oz. glass of water with it!

Hoodia (HOOD-ee-uh) gordonii - A genus of 10 to 20 species from southwestern Africa.
Hoodia gordonii is the stoneage wonder plant found throughout the dry arid regions of the South western African continent now on the verge of making history in the fight against obesity. It is a genus belonging to the Asclepiadaceae family which consists of approximately 20 species. Used to stop hunger, quench thirst, and provide energy among other things since prehistoric times, Hoodia gordonii was first discovered by the San tribesmen and women to get through the most difficult of times.

green tea will not do anything in-particular for weight loss. Green tea is high in anti-oxidants and will help with general health.

No nutritional supplement has any significant effect on weight loss.

HERE ARE THE BASICS:

1. you lose weight by consuming fewer Calories than you burn
2. you gain weight by consuming more Calories than you burn.
3. you should be concerned with losing FAT, not weight. There are 3500 Calories/Lbs of fat. To lost one pound of fat/week you have to burn 3500 Calories/week more than you consumed. there are 2500 Calories in a pound of muscle.
4. You should be more concerned with your percent body fat, not your weight.
5. the best, most effective way or burning fat is by combining weight-training and cardio exercise. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism will be. You will burn more calories all day long, including while you sleep. A health body fat percentage for males is 7-18%, females 18-24% (approximate numbers).
6. you should eat 6-8 small meals each day - this will prevent you from eating 3 large meal which will slow your metabolism while your body works to digest the large quantity of food.

As a general rule of thumb, you should be weight-training 3-4 times per week and performing cardio 3-5 times per week.

Consider hiring a personal trainer (ISSA certified) and a nutritionist. The money spent on these services is worth more than spending money on pills and potions.

I don't know, but all tea is supposed to be good for you, because tea contains antioxidants, which:
-promote eye health and prevent macular degeneration, cataracts, and other degenerative eye diseases
-Keep the immune system in good shape, or boost the immune system when it has been compromised.
-Prevent age-related neurodegeneration such as decline of the brain and nervous system.
-Prevent DNA damage and therefore have anticarcinogenic effects.
-Have antiatherogenic effects; that is, promote cardiovascular health and help prevent artherosclerosis, heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular diseases. Antioxidants can decrease LDL and cholesterol, increase high density lipoprotein(HDL), and lower blood pressure. The mechanisms behind these effects are not fully understood, and can occur even if the person has a diet high in saturated fat.

Green tea by itself is not very pleasant but those tea bags that are mixed with ordinary tea are very nice and have a lower caffeine content than ordinary tea. As to an aid to slimming - you may as well drink water it is much cheaper and has the same effect!!

Yes, it definitely speeds up your metabolism.
However, the tea must be taken unsweetened (try it with lemon juice instead, its nice)!
You must also drink about six cups per day.
The good news is that it also improves your general health as well as make you lose weight. It is a very powerful anti-oxidant.
