Easy poor man's ziti:
Box of ziti noodles, jar of sauce, container of ricotta cheese, pack of grated mozzarella.

Boil a box of ziti noodles as directed, but one less minute.
In a rectangular cake pan, spoon (just enough to cover the bottom of the pan) your favorite jar sauce. I like no salt Francesco Rinaldi, because cheese adds the salt.

Arrange the cooked ziti over the sauce in straight rows.

On top of the noodles, spoon another layer of sauce and sprinkle 1/3 mozzarella cheese (you grate it or buy it in the pack already grated). Right on top of that spoon out ricotta cheese, store brand. Just put dollops of it every couple of inches.

Then another layer of pasta, and another layer of sauce, grated cheese and ricotta.

Then the final layer.

On the top, be sure to put the last of the sauce.

Cover with foil, Bake at 350 degrees for an hour or so.

If you want to get fancy, put a layer of Italian sausage in the middle, and cook an extra half-hour.

1 box of ziti - follow directions on the box

1 jar of your favorite meat sauce (if you don't want to use meat sauce then brown up some of your own hamburger meat, pour out grease and break it up. Then add it to your sauce. Put meat in a pot then add sauce. stir so it is well mixed.) Do this over a medium heat/flame.

1/3 cup of Sugar mixed into the sauce. (helps with the acid)

Put ziti into (aluminium) pan ( I use them for easy clean up.)

Pour your sauce over the ziti mixing it together while doing that - but be sure to save about
1/2 cup of sauce.

Slice up 1 pound of mozerella cheese.

Cover the entire top of the pan of ziti.

With the sauce you have left over ...... spread this over the top of the cheese.

If you like lots of cheese then add about a 1/2 pound of sliced thin mozerella to the sauce while mixing it over the heat.
