I've been in Aviation for over 13 + years, and I can tell you right off the bat, this is NOT the easiest carreer you will ever try and tackle! But depending on what you would like to do, IE if you want to fly big comercial liners, or just Jets of any kind in general, the military is by far your best bet!! Trying to do everything on your own, and get all the time and ratings will cost you more than a fortune!!! Look into your local rotc, or air force, there are many opportunities for you there...

Go to college and major in something other than aviation related....just in case, you will have something to fall back on.
The military is going to require a college degree to become a officer. Most airlines, the same. The competition is extreme,
buckle down now and make great, not just good grades.
You might consider going to one of the Military Academy's,,West Point (Army) Annapolis (Navy/Marines) or the Air force Academy
at Colorado Springs, CO.
Now is the time to start preparing for you dream, it is NOT easy, but the payoff is worth the effort. Good luck!!!!
Going to an Aviation School is going to leave you in alot of debt that will take YEARS to pay off because of the LOW starting pay.
The guys that make 100, 000 or more a year have YEARS of experience and seniority.

If your eyesight is good (in depth perception and you are not colorblind), your hand-eye coordination is excellent and your overall physical fitness is great, I suggest joining the military first. It wouldn't harm your career (and your country) if you become a military reservist later when you opt to become a commercial pilot. In the meantime, persevere in your studies preparatory for your career objective. Good luck!

Stick to your school work and go to college. Join the service after. And listen to your instructors. I'm sure you'll be a great pilot someday.
