It's a popular misconception. The majority of men actually prefer brunettes.
Of the 4 main hair colors brunettes are most popular, blondes are least popular and black and red hair come 2nd and 3rd but I can't remember which way round (I think redheads are second).

Had a look on the internet to see if I could find a survey - the nearest I found was "which hair color do you find sexiest". So far 42,000 votes have been cast with brunettes top with 39% of the vote, redheads second with 29%, blondes 3rd with 25%, others on 4% and grey on 3%. i dont think that is entirely true. part of it is a stereotype the media imposes on us. there are a lot of guys who like women with darker features rather than the Aryan look: blonde hair blue eyes. but a lot of men might like Aryans more because the look is a little more rare. not necessarily looking at America only but the world as a whole. anyhoo, guys like that sometimes are shallow. some men just prefer but wont go to lengths like breaking up with a nice brunette to get wit a bitchy blonde. it all depends on the particular guy.

They don't.. they usually marry brunettes. However tests were done and men are initially attracted to the blond color (sort of like a moth to a flame) ..even in Pageants winners are usually brunettes. That having been said, I am blond and have been married twice! Those always the exception to the rule!

a lot of people are attracted to lighter features. blonds usually have blue eyes which a lot of people find attractive and only 1% of the world has naturally blond hair so its a lot more rare than you might think. a lot of blonds look brighter and people denote that with happier. where somone with pale skin and dark hair isnt alway seen as happly and cheerful...oh and it being a misconseption...i'm sure pamela anderson..the most downloaded woman on the internet would disagree. And if brown is so much more attractive so many people with brown hair wouldnt be putting blond highlites in it........

I think that because some blonde's are known to do stupid things and always have fun that guys think thta that's sexy and want a girl that will be crazy if you don't mind me saying (in bed) but just remember also some guys are creeps and jerks!!!!

Most blonds dye their hair. Men assume that women who enhance their looks through artificial means are looking for more attention from men. So they assume that if you're blond, you must really like men, which makes them like you. I think.

Actually in statistical studies, men prefer brunettes. Between the ages of 12 and 32 men prefer brunettes. :D YAY GO BRUNETTES!!!!!!

i wouldn't know. i'm not a blonde or brunette but it think it's because they like the colour better than brown?
