There are loads of computer programs som even free to copy VHS to Digital format on your computer. You can then tranfer to DVD is you want.

There are also some machines now that will transfer VHS to DVD with apush of a button.

Youc an do a search on Google "VHS to DVD Transfer " You will get some good results.

We used a program called "Dazzle", purchased at Best Buy. It was about $80 or so, easy to install, easy to use. It includes an analog video device for direct transfer from your VCR/videocam to computer. Also includes editing software. Be aware, however, that the resolution quality of your videos on DVD, after transfer from tape (analog), will not be crisp, unfortunately.

You can't go from DVD to PC since computers only have audio/video outputs, not inputs(as far as I know). You should get a cheap DVD recorder that you can connect your VHS player to, and then record onto a DVD directly from there.

I purchases a USB video capture device at Fry's for about $30. This device which connected to my USB port had the standard video and stereo audio input RCA jacks. Any device could then be recorded to my PC in the form of an MPEG or AVI. I then used the software that came with the device to burn a DVD.

The devices was called Vide-Oh! I think.

Hope this helps!

Get a PCI capture card, you can get it for around 20-30 dollars, its pretty easy to configure

Just open your computer and install card, plug in your vcr to the card (via standard RCA jack) and press record on software

I recommend the Advantek Pci Capture card, it can capture HDTV content and it´s only 30 bucks.

You will just need a program to do it and an interface. I did it by connecting my VCR to my digital camcorder, then attached my camcorder to my laptop via firewire. I then used iMovie cause I have a MAC. I don't know what you can use for windows.

You have to have a tapedeck hooked up to a computer with DIVavi. They're rather spendy. We have them at my school here in Oregon. As far as the software, Adobe Premiere will work just fine. It's the hardware that's the tricky part.
