Choosing what you have to embrace as a faith must not come from someone's recommendation whether it is true or not. The truth must be within what you feel in your heart is right for you. A faith you are ready to live the life of what you think will make you a better person should be. Just put this in your mind. If all religion not only christianity, claim that theirs is the truth then, all must carry a certain truth or lie. Religion these days looks like a product for sale where everybody claims to be the best and oftentimes we are lured to look at either how simple or elaborate their churches are.
The only safe thing I can tell you, even in war, One God is in both warring factions. We are all made aware that according to the Bible and many have believed that the Jews are the chosen people of God yet how many loses in their entire lifetime have they experienced? This is a religion whose faith and history would somehow prove that their religion is true but with what is happening with them would you think it still is?
Early Christians who went to many wars against other religions have many overwhleming victories and always thought because God was always with them and yet finally their hour have come and they lost.
Your choice must not be based on which is the best religion but in which is the best within you could God depend on.

Good question! The fact that you even ask the question means that you are a thinking person and you will not be easily mislead. There are many religious persons that will preach to you how much God loves you BUT according to this scripture or that scripture if you don't "repent" and pray for forgiveness than you are not going to heaven. And of course, they will be more than happy to point out to you the "sinners" who won't make it because they are gay, or Muslim, had sex out of wedlock, or watched an "R" rated movie. Or the people who think that da da da and de de de is a gift of "tongues". RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. What is truly in your heart and makes sense to you is good. Maybe the whole organized religion thing is not right for you; then don't feel guilty about it. You are not wrong.

i am apostolic .....there is only one church and Jesus built his church...all these other churches are just something man came up with ..they satisfy the flesh..anyone tells you it doesnt matter where you go there wrong because it does...dont take my word ...go to the book of acts read it.. but acts 2:38 is how your reborn ye must be reborn and baptized in jesus name..there is no other baptism done in the bible that is where your remissions of sins are..you get it thru the name...go by the bible ..the best thing i can tell you is if you want to know the truth is God will show you the way if you want to know it but if you dont then you will be blind from the truth....read the bible ask God for understanding..when i speak of God and Jesus im speaking of the same person...God manifested himself in the flesh so he could shed his blood for mans sins...so if you really want to know the truth he will show you...Jesus is the Father, Jesus is the Son, and Jesus is the Holy Ghost..also the book of acts in the bible is the new covenant where it started thats where you will find the church..but read the whold bible cause you need the whole bible to understand who God is...you got to learn to rightly divide the word....God in his origin is a spirit. a spirit has no flesh or blood .. in order for him to die he needed a fleshly body which became the Son of God..the flesh is the son of God, but the spirit is God..

First of all, there is no perfect church.
Search for one that follow the context of the Bible. That's where the truth is.
I attend a Christian Church of Christ (instrumental). I believe it to follow the scripture closely without being legalistic.
This is only advise. I don't mean to insult anyone from denominations. But again, if it's not scripture, it's not truth.

Greetings,
The Christianity that is taught by Jesus in the New Testament is the one which we as Christians must follow in order to be acceptable to God. Afterall Jesus didn't teach religion He taught FAITH. Faith is what Christians must have to enjoy the rewards of our Father not only here but in Heaven as well. The whole New Testament gives us as Christians not only guidelines as how to live our lives here but also requires that by FAITH we are approved. Even in the Old Testament look at how God dealt with the patriarchs as compared to the rest of the world. Abraham was approved of God by his faith. Look at how the men of the Old Testament kept their faith and how they were rewarded in the end as a result of their faith(sometimes called belief).
a work in progress

Your way off base with this question and obviously dont understand God's gift or plan for you. Religion is actually BAD, thats why jesus flipped the tables at the temple. what you need is to seek god and engrave his word upon your heart. study the bible and seek to please the lord in ALL you do. find a church that guides you in your study of the word and helps you to build your relationship with god. everything else is unimportant.

1) OK, Christianity is the way, but which Christianity?
Which one most closely represents the teachings of Christ?
2) why is this speaking to me acceptable but the speaking to me that another religion does not acceptable?
Huh?

Instead, seek God's guidance on this. Spend an hour or two every day just asking him until you get your answer. Why ask a bunch of strangers whose advice is not necessarily designed for your best interest?
If you seek Him, you will find Him.

Go to the Word and read it carefully. Pray and ask God to open your eyes to the truth, then find a church that preaches this same truth. In the Bible we are told to make sure that these denominations preach "this same Jesus". There are many denominations, preaching many different Jesus'. Make sure it is one that is preaching the Jesus of the Bible.
