Well, if it's still early in the day for you, give them some time. They may be a little busy to make a call right now, but that doesn't mean you won't hear from them eventually.
If the day has come and gone, I think I would be a little hurt because it's always nice to be acknowledged on your birthday, especially by your mother since it's the bond that you and she share together.

It all depend on how old I am, If I were a young kid like 12 to 16 I would be hurt like heck!!!!! I would be sad, madd, I would want to crawl under my pillow and die but, if I were like 25 & up I would feel like an adult, that is how life is sometimes, sorry but hey if it makes any difference:
